Back development hit a plateau, thinking about adding pull ups...

Only 1 row movement and 2 pulldown movements. I would add more rows. They were always my main way of gaining mass.

If your doing 24 sets for back, you’re not getting close enough to failure.

I really like smith machine bent rows, meadows row, chest supported row, and banded deadlifts for upper back.

Can't add much more that hasn't already been mentioned. Definitely, like everything else, continue to get stronger with each movement.

Barbell rows, Meadows rows, 1-arm rows, 1-arm t-bar rows, bent-over rows, rack deads, some shrugs of some sort, various Hammer rows, and I really like weighted RACK CHINS!

For back I like three movements

(1) down angle ... Pulldowns, pullups, pullovers, etc

(2) horizontal angle ... Regular rows, db rows, tbar rows..

(3) upwards angle ... High angle standing upright rows, seated hammer rows for the upper back, standing upright db rows, etc

And then throw in a movement for rear delts and a shrug movement

I like my first movement to be a heavy erector movement so either a SLDL, rack pull or BB row. Then hit a lat focused row, lat focused pull down, upperback focused row and upperback focused pull down in whatever order you like. Adjust volume to your needs, just make sure you're accurate and get strong as fuck.

For lats, nothing beats heavy pullovers IMO. I will never understand why so few gyms have a pullover machine. For mid-back (thickness) I want a chest-supported row where I'm pulling from a fully-stretched position.
That being said, I do love pull-ups. I think they're great for shoulder health; and close(neutral)-grip pull-ups are my favorite movement for biceps.
