I recently talked to a couple doctors about how oral steroids REALLY affect your liver values. Of course, most of us know that it is a little exaggerated, but you would be surprised what the doctors told me. They referred back to a couple studies done a while ago, where 50 people were put on a 10-12 week oral steroid cycle consisting of 20-50 mg of dianabol, and another 50 were put on 100-200 mg of anadrol for the same length of time. Before the test, all subjects liver values were between 30 and 50. After the 12 weeks, the values had only gone up by 10-30. A lot of doctors would still consider this in the safe range. The doctors I talked to said the values may have been kept at the original levels if the subjects were taking in 200-400 mg of milk thistle a day, along with up to 100 000 I.U.'s of beta-carotene/day. I did not know that beta carotene had been used to treat liver problems til the other day. I had always used it to combat acne. I'm now planning on using it during my next cycle. You learn something new every day!
