BF% for a comp

Im doin my first comp and im pretty nervous. I dunno if i didnt start soon enough or if i was to fat to begin with but im 4 weeks out and just over 8%. im sure ill be able to drop more in the next few weeks but does anybody know what the standard fat % (i just mean ballpark. i know diff people look diff with diff %'s) is for a local show? Mines not even a state comp so i dont expect SUPER competition but im still nervous. haha i guess i just assumed id make it to 6% :p
 
yeah i hear ya. Thats the logical way to think but when your stressin out about something its tough!hahaha

And yeah thanks for the advice. Ive been doin all my posing just straight on cause i hadnt thought about the judges looking up at you. Thanks for the pointer
 
I don't see a reason in measurements. Accept to freak yourself out just worry about how you look. If you look like you got in the best conditioning repeat the 2nd time around if not than you know something has to be changed a bit. Don't stress over it and since it's not anything major enjoy yourself and good luck.
 
yea lights make a world of difference. For example, if i could step on stage and look how i do in the gym mirror is would be all set but i know they are suuuuuper flattering and i dont wanna fall into the trap of thinking im ready when im not because i look good in ONE location.

Any tips for a guy that doesnt think hes gonna make condition? My legs really arent coming in and the bottom of my ass and kinda the sides of my lower back i can still pinch fat. I did a mild keto diet last week as a kinda intro into the full blown i started yesterday, just cause i didnt want to drastically change something all at once. Im doing cardio 40 mins AM before food then 40 after my workout in the afternoon, cept leg day, which is just morning cardio.

I know you cant rush it but i was just wonderin if you experienced guys have any tricks or pointers if you think your behind schedule. Ill take any help i can get
 
Your going to make the biggest changes in the last few weeks, at this point ur body will get better day by day. Factor in water drop and I still see no reason you couldn't hit 6% by game time. And most local shows the guys are on stage around 6 or 7%, people will claim 3-4% but 90% of them dont know the difference or realize how low 3% really is
 
yea i bought keto sticks to start testing last week. I basically when from a 4 day low carb and hight fat- 15g fat each meal cept pre and post workout. 1/2 cup oats in the moring, 20g Waxey maize preworkout and 60 post) and 1 day high (bout 300 carbs and minimal fat to the Dave P diet of 1.5 g protien 1 g fat and zero carbs cept whats in the nuts and veggies. I just had my carb up refeed yesterday but even before bed tues i was in 'trace' keto. Alotta guys say they hit moderate on this plan but i didnt.

This week i was gonna do a truer keto, which for me works out to be about 120 protien and 180 fat. Then when i hit moderate keto i can up the protien and down fat a bit. To be honest this typa diet scares teh hell outta me cause ive always had it beaten into my head to eat at least 1g protien per pound no matter what. Ive heard such good things though i figure im gonna give it a shot.

See any probs with me trying this? Also, i dunno if it factors in or not, but im natural. I havent read anything to make me think this keto diet is more based to guys on gear, but i could be wrong. ahaha Hopefully not tho! :p

Very true about guys that think their BF is lower though. Youd laugh if you heard what some of the guys that come up to me at the gym think theirs is. It baffles me how a guy without any visible abs can pull out a number like 6%! ahahahahaha

My abs are visible, not good yet but you can see the top 4 of them, and I'm still at least 11% bf right now I would assume. But I'm 235 lbs also. A guy my size at 11% looks totally different than a guy who might weight 180 lbs at 11% or 300 lbs, or what have you

Yea compared to most guys here im not that big. Im 204 right now at about 8% but im also 6'1 so IMO i thought be about 225 eventually for a comp. But yeah abs are the first thing to come in on me when i diet. Ill have a full blown 6 pack 3 weeks in, and thats if i kinda chubby starting. Now legs and glutes.....thats a different story :( Im 12 weeks in and still waiting for those bastards :p
 
I think you said somewhere that this is your first show. If that's true, your goal here should be to get out there in respectable shape, gain the experience and enjoy the fact that you've accomplished a feat that most people lack the balls to try.

Enjoy that day dude because it will go by like a blur.
