all right, i was not blessed with large calve muscles. what have you done to get them mofo's lookin' right?

i'm thinking of maybe working on em' 3 days a week (just the calves), whatcha guys think?

any of you been in the same boat before, what worked for you?

There are some threads on here about bringing up calves. Genetics play a huge role in calves but if you search for the threads i am talking about, i can almost guarantee you will find SOMETHING that will get your growth.

I either work minee once a week or twice a week....depending on the rotation. Mine are pretty decent size and have never had any trouble growing them. Sorry i cannot be more help.
 
Between every set get a deep 5-10 sec stretch all the way down, and foam roll your calves every chance you get, this will get all the knots out help with recovery and bloodflow.
 
My cousin had small calves and then started taking a boxing class. They had him jump roping every day. He calves size and definition increased a lot. Just a thought.
 
U have to understand your calves are a muscle that mostly used in everyday life. So a calve muscle is used to your everyday life style, if u use your calve muscle more daily, then u need to train them harder, so they blast past the plateau effect. Most people just train calves with moderate weight and high reps, well what do u think u do everyday, walk, run thats moderate weight and high reps. So u have to blast the shit out of them, heavy weight low to medium reps. U twice a week, try to stretch them as much as possible. Just on an everyday basis is u stretch your calve muscle, you rip the muscle fascia which in turn will help the muscle get larger.
 
Yeah , I used to do alot of running...... for some reason I could not find anything to really get them to increase in size. Someone finally told me I needed to "SHOCK" them . Only thing that helps me (& it's still a chore to make progress) is taking my little calve raise platform & move it under the squat rack & take my BB with squat weight on it & do low rep calve raises with it. ------- finally got tired of my father in law asking me "When I'm gonna un-mount that chicken I'm riding around....." :D
 
STRETCH THEM ALOT during every rep, use heavy weights and lots of light weights. And dont let gravity do the work on the way down control is every sec on the way down.
