My mom called me this morning at 6 to let me know that she could hear something strange downstairs and as considering calling the police but asked if I could come over.
I drove the 30 minutes over and when i got there, no signs of police. I walked through the door and there, in my moms living room was a golden retriever, happy as larry, panting away and wagging his tail sat next to my mom.
Bear in mind she doesn't have a dog.
what had apparently happened is that the dog had walked through the open kitchen door that had been left open when she had let the cats out early in the morning.
she had heard whining and miaowing and furniture banging around.
when she plucked up the courage to go downstairs she saw this whopping great big labrador with her other cat chasing each other around like children.
before tiring each other out and falling asleep curled up with each other.
she's apparently got photos so i'll post them up when she mails them to me.
