BP and meds

my bp is not responding to current bp meds ,curent is 147-78 used to be 160-78 ,my meds are atacand 16 mg ,has eney p.m. members had eney luck with anouther brand of meds,thanks

Benicar worked for me when I was having issues. She gave me the lowest dose (20mg.) and I took half of that for about 4 weeks, and for the last 2-3 months haven't had an issue. Alot of my bro's are on Benicar with good success.

thanks il mention that one to my doc,just to confirm 147-78 b.p. is when im clean and lean,on the juice its 170-80,eney more sugestions on meds with b.p. stats before and afters would be greatfull.

what other methods have you employed besides the BP meds?
Do you control your salt, and water retention?
How is your hematocrit level and cholesterol?
Do you cycle the what I call "the hypertensive" AAS like tren and suspension and dbol and drol and or high doses oil based testosterones?
couple for things you can control to get it down further.

supplements help like bromelain and omega III's etc. but overall the pill may need to be adjusted and or changed as well as some lifestlye changes.

life style changes ive allready made,rarely drink if i do its just a couple of lite beers,havent smoked for 4 years though i smoked from the age of 15 to 30 ,ride my bike to work and back and diet is good,cholestrol is exellent 1.9 doctor said thats the best he has ever seen,not to concerned about bp while on juice becase thats temporary,just whant to get bp right now while im natty, yes i am guilty of takeing hi test oil in the past eg 800mg a week,but thats athing of the past , when i juice next it will onley be 400 mg testect.thanks for the replies.

I'm on atacand also. 16mg is the average dose that your usually started with. I would just see about getting it bumped up. That is usually the first thing the doc will want to try.

Isn't that still considered normal BP? My doc gets worried when my diastolic gets over 90, but I'm usually 180/80 or 160/90 or so.

No thats too high

Its one thing for the systolic pressure to go up with anxiety and things but the diastolic (lower pressure or bottom ) pressure should be below 90. It implys that after ejection of blood from the heart into the arterys which gives you the upper number the vessels in their relaxed / resting state are 147. This is a scary number and needs to be brought down. If you have any weak walls in the arteries anywhere in the body you can have the wall balloon out or break because unlike the momentary high pressure from his heart ejecting his vessels are staying under high pressure continuously. Noraml BP 120/80

I would see if I was holding alot of water and then diurese it down with lasix, or almost any diet pill that will offload water.

I use that too, at 40 mg/day and mine is almost always within reason even while on.

Yeah, Benicar is in that class. Many others out there too. Most of them too can come in tablets that contain diuretics if your pressure isnt controlled by the ACE inhibitor alone. I personally dont need the diuretic.
