Brand new GPU architecture from Nvidia due out soon!

The 2000 series is due by this fall I think. They are already taking orders on the founder's edition.

They say this card has AI capacity, not sure how that figures into graphics. Looks like another big step in gaming evolution for sure though. Exciting stuff.

I used to SLI cards but almost all of the games were poorly optimized for it. So many games are just console ports. Games now though from what I hear are starting to run better with SLI. The cards are so fast just using one that it really is overkill running two. I can see maybe picking up another 1080ti when those are cheaper because of this new card, and run that in SLI with the one I have now. Probably have similar performance to the best new card.

You're right, overkill for most applications in the gaming world. I built a rig 12 months ago and ended up selling it inside of a year. Thought I wanted to game again and then realized I had kids and a family now. Always fun to put all that stuff in the Newegg shopping cart and put it all together when it comes in the mail.

Yeah, you certainly need time to enjoy it. One thing that is nice, when your kids are old enough then they will game on it too. One of my daughters spends a chunk of time playing on the HTC Vive doing VR. Its pretty darn cool.

Going to try to keep mine at the ice rink skating; my retirement plan is for my boy to get drafted and then pay for my house.
