EDIT : someone just told me this is old news although their local paper is reporting it as new today "Morning Call staff reports 9:08 a.m. EST, November 24, 2009" my apologies if it is infact an out of date story.

Ten suspects have been arrested in connection with a steroid distribution and manufacturing scheme in four Pennsylvania counties, including Lehigh and Northampton.

State Attorney General Tom Corbett will release the details on his department's investigation, dubbed "Operation Roid Runner," at 10:30 a.m. in Harrisburg, which has resulted in arrests connected to an operation involving the use, distribution and manufacture of steroids in Lehigh, Northampton, Dauphin and Cumberland counties.

In a press release, Corbett said the investigation began in the fall of 2007. He said since 2004, the defendants have been responsible for bringing more than $170,000 worth of steroids from China and Mexico into Pennsylvania.

The identities of the defendants will be released at the news conference.

no doubt unfortunately it doesn't make "flashy" news...kind of like the fact that poodles and nearly every other breed bite about 10 times more often than pit bulls but it never makes the news, its all about flash. Its really a sad thing that the sheeple are so easily entertained.

Story has been updated so odds are it's new.

He said the Garonziks, Lazaro and Gillespie obtained steroids by placing Internet orders to people in China and Mexico and paying for the via wire transfer. A grand jury investigation determined $170,000 was sent overseas between January 2004 and this year. The senders allegedly used fictitious names and structured the wire payments so they would always be less than $1,000.

Lazaro researched how to turn powder steroids into those that could be injected, and he and Gillespie started manufacturing the drugs at Lazaro’s home and branded them “Pro Lab,” Corbett says. Sassaman and Koufalis, both bodybuilders, allegedly obtained “Pro Lab” steroids from Lazaro and Gillespie and sold them to others to pay for the expense of bodybuilding competitions.

When officials searched Lazaro’s home, they allegedly seized more than nine pounds of bulk steroids, numerous syringes, a 9mm firearm and various items, such as filters, oils and alcohols used to manufacture steroids. During the course of the entire investigation, agents seized more than 700 bottles of steroids, 1,337 pills containing steroids, nine pounds of bulk steroids, $28,000 and four other firearms. The investigation is ongoing.

Yeah, but lets not forget the trail of bodies left from their heinous crimewave.

Families destroyed by hypertrophy, refrigerators emptied, gyms filled with people who actually improve themselves and rarely get sick. Awful.

If they've kept just one person from getting gyno, then it's all worth it.

what a pile of bullshit

Anybody notice how the media always include the term "firearms" and large sums of cash as one of the things recovered from the "crime scene"? Last I knew it was legal to own firearms in the god blessed US of A, let alone cash, but hey, it sure sounds a lot more juicy when you throw cash and firearms into the mix. Makes regular americans sound like the typical meth dealer, which is the obvious intention.

Thanks for the heads up SBC. We appreciate you and your blog, great stories and Information in there.

Any chance you have heard anything on How Redicat is doing or what ever happened with him?.

Weird. We had a guy talking about this "redicat" guy last night. Is he the one who was busted oversees? If so, how were they able to bust him if he resided in another country. Also, if that is so, then how can it be safe for the sponsors on here to do the same thing?

It was a bit of a diff. situation that got him caught up.
