Carb load precontest..Input needed. Crap or clean?

I have a few questions about carb loading before my upcoming show. Show is on a saturday.

My current diet is a ketogenic diet which consists of a 1 meal carb load each sunday night. The last 2 weeks leading up to the show I plan in staying into a ketogenic state and as depleted as possible. Friday night begin my carb load which will consist of crap.
monday am-----friday 2pm.........load water 1-2 gallon minimum

Sunday: Cardio am---Upper body depletion
Monday: Cardio----Lowerbody depletion
Tues: Early AM full body depletion/cardio
Wed:rest
Thurs: rest
Friday: Rest.(eat)


Questions for you guru's...

1. If I begin to crap load friday night how possible is it for me to spill over considering I will be so depleted?
2. When should my last meal be before prejudging? (dont have weigh ins)
3. 10am prejudging and 5pm show. Meal in between?
4. Cut water friday at what time? prejudge at 10am satuday.
5. Dyazide tabs....friday afternoon, friday night and early am b4 show?
6. How much will I enjoy being able to take a week off of training post show?

I would do a full body weights workout rather than cardio, you want to deplete glycogen completely. Weights is the only real way of doing this. Full body blast, light to medium weights and rep like a madman. I generally cut water at 24 hours before pre judge. I do not use diuretics. after the show be a little careful of the junk you eat or you will rebound big time. This is not comfortable and is dangerous. Eat good clean meals after your show and each day introduce more carbs. But after the show go out and enjoy bro, you will have earned it. I don't do keto diets, but I use a more traditional carb load. I always use good clean carbs for my load. Potatoes, rice!! and the water during loading is very important. The night before pre judge, i usually eat fried rice.

Personally, I think shit loading only works well if you're on a lot of gear. I think you can do a similar load with healthy fats and low/hi gi carbs mixed. I knew a guy that like a mix between the two with pancakes and syrup w/ gronolla pb/banana that have had good results.
 
carb up on the same carbs you ate for your diet so you know how your body will respond

Possible but unlikely, if you take your dieuretics and cut your water, its tough to spill in just a few hrs

For 10am prejudging...i like to eat meal #1 at 6:00am and then meal #2 at 8:30am....then about an hr after this meal....i have one rice cake with natural PB every 30 mins or so....works very well for me

Seven days prior to show: This is Daves Palumbo's protocol for the most part. He goes off of the individuals conditioning etc.

6 days out: No carbs Water: 2 gallons per day
5 days out: No carbs Water: 2 gallons per day
4 days out: No carbs Water: 2 gallons per day

3 days out: 30 grams per meal x 4 meals
Water: 1 gallon per day

2 days out: 35 grams per meal x 6 meals
Water: 1 gallon per day

1 day out: 40 grams per meal x 6 meals
Water: 1/2 gallon of water per day- STOP drinking 12 midnight

1/2 Dyazide 10:00pm

CONTEST: 30 grams per meal

1/2 Dyazide 6:00 am



WATER: NONE


He normally uses white rice or grits as carb source. I believe the protein and fats remain the same.


This is generally what he does, but remember you need someone to monitor you etc.

I can go further, but it is going to cost you...lol. Too many secrets.

Yep, way too much dyazide... If i'm not mistaken, you were the one posting 5 weeks out pics with roughly 10% bf, if you do not get that down considerable come contest time, I would be very careful with a shitload (or even a modified one at that). I would just follow what dave recommends as a general guideliine for your carb up... keep it clean---rice, eggs, pb should do the trick
