My first question is, to taper water or not to taper water? What is the reasoning behind tapering water and why it works? Iv read the reasoning behind not tapering water and it sounds like it makes more sense than tapering. It states that tapering water causes ADH secretion to increase in response to the slow reduction in water intake, allowing your body to readjust. When not tapering, your body takes a few days to return to normal, so it doesnt have time to adjust.
Now aldactone reduces aldosterone secretion, which causes excretion of sodium and water, while reabsorbing potassium. If you are running aldactone for the week leading up to competition, and its causeing you to excrete sodium, wouldnt that inhibit your ability to carb load, since you need sodium to load carbs into your muscles?
