Chicken weight cooked or uncooked??

i see a lot of diets where a meal consist of chicken 250 g and 8 ox potato..

Sorry for my ignorance is that cooked or uncooked weight for both chicken and potatoes.. Uncooked right???

How much is 250 g uncooked chicken weigh when coooked??
 
I seriously dont know why people think they have to weigh every gram of what they eat, like 200 or 250 grams really makes a difference! Weighing foods is rediculus in my opinion.

It isn't ridiculous. Especially for the people doing shows. Being accurate means it is easier to make adjustments. I don't think you have to be so exact that 250g, not 249 or 251 but when you need to make adjustments it is better to have a good idea how much you are taking in rather than just a complete guess
 
I weigh my food cooked, its just easier and cleaner. Weighing raw chicken is a pain in the ass. If i remember right 8ox un cooked cooks up to 6 oz. Do some exp. with it. Its just easier to cook up a hole pack of chicken then weigh it time and time again.
 
There are some diets that require everything to be exact, but for an average bb diet it is not necessary as long as one establishes some rough guidelines.

I usually go with what is on the box for my chicken breast. They will say that each chicken breast is 100g. If there is a bit of variance, not a big deal. Once in a while I might weight few to see if they are consistant.

It goes down a significant amount after cooked. The real weight is before cooked. So if you have an 10oz chicken breast its roughly 80g protien. After cooked it may only weigh 7oz but is still 80g protien unless you char the absolute shit out of it.
 
I tend to agree with the masses here. It does not have to be rocket science and some varience is OK. But if you are really down to the nuts and bolts of your contest prep then weighing can be beneficial.
 
I weigh mine cooked.... but for a diet I think it really doesn't matter as long as you pick one and stick with it. Being consistant is what makes the difference.
 
food weight is considered pre cooked weight.
it is much easier though to weight it after it is cooked.
not to mention getting that slimmy azz pre cooked chicken everywhere.
but if you are dedicated to your diet then weighing before cooking is the way to go.
 
I weigh mine cooked, I don't believe it's ridiculous especially if you are getting ready for a show. I'm very picky when it comes to contest prep, others maybe not so much. Offseason I often eyeball it.
 
I just weigh out 8oz cooked chicken, turkey or steak and get approx. 50 grams of protein I suppose. Ronnie Coleman in "relentless" weighs his meat cooked so I dunno!
