Crock pot?

Thinking about purchasing a crock pot for cooking top round, etc.

Anybody use these? What is a simple recipe for cooking these? All the ones I look up are all kinds of veggies, potatoes, etc.

Any pointers? Looking for something w/ no starches.. veggies ok.

Here is an easy one .

4 lean pork chops
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
and a can (maybe 2)of water .

My pot always has something cooking .

We just made a chuck roast, baby carrots and potato's. Used a little beef stock and some seasoning...Mmmmmmmmmm. Good Stuff!

I like a whole chicken minus the skin in chile colorado sauce simmered in crock pot until it pulls of the bones then taco time with lettuce, rice, beans, corn salsa, cilantro on flour tortillas

Just use your imagination, we cook full size turkeys, chicken & chops in them.

This is the easiest thing I know how to make. It taste best with briskit, but due to fat content I usually just get a big chunk of beef. Put in about 5lbs and then add 1 jar of pico or salsa. Leave on low 8-12 hrs depending on size of meat chunck, and thats it. You can shred it and put it on tortillas w/ hot sauce and lime or BBQ sauce, or slice it.

I agree with Alfresco that the pressure cooker is a terrific substitute. We can use the pressure cooker during the week without planning too much in advance and without leaving an appliance plugged in and turned on.

what is the difference between a crock pot and a pressure cooker? Which is faster? Me, I just throw some chicken breasts or beef cubes into my rice cooker with some seasoning, press a button, come back later and its done!

Im getting so sick of chicken and steak on the grill or stir fry or oven,etc... It seems so much easier to eat it when it melts in your mouth like in a crock pot. Im gonna pick one up next week.

I love my pressure cooker, use it at least once a week. I can cook a 4 lb hung of beef in an hour, and it taste like it had been roasting away in a slow cooker for 12 hours. So yes, it cooks much faster than a crock pot and it still stays moist. THen I like to Use a little flour to thicken up the liquid thats leftover the pot, cook up some brown rice, and you have a delicious and healthy beef and gravy over rice meal.

Mine came with quite a few good recipes and they are easy to find as well, but it's just as easy to be creative.

We use a crock pot for chili,,stew,,beans,,,theres endless recipes ideas for these. Worth the investement.
