Cutting Carbs Adding Veggies... Bad Gas!!

Started cutting back the carbs a bit and adding more steamed veggies. They taste great and fill me up but the GAS is getting worse.

Anyone have any tips to controlling this?

Put in a rush order on Amazon for Dr. Matthew #1 Digestive Enzymes

Also take Metformin at night so wondering if that will help with digestion and gas??

Good ol gas ex or whatever equivalent works fine....
 
Drop those veggies and find some that don’t give you gas. Your body is obviously intolerant to them.

Things like broccoli, green beans, or other high fodmap veggies def mess w me. carrots, cucumbers, tomato, spinach, kale (which I hate), peppers (not crazy amounts or they bother me) do not give me issues.

Check what your eating vs FODMAP

95% sure its the met. Cant fully describe it but the changes in gut flora make for more gastro distress, I find getting a decenet amount of real fiber to mitigate most it.
 
The added fiber is fucking with you, you can take some digestive enzymes or you can wait it out and let your gut microbiome adjust but that takes a while for that process to happen. Digestive enzymes are your quick fix.
 
Slowly increase your veggies. They are good for you but let your body adjust.
 
How many veggies you add at one time?

I made the mistake of eating like NONE
And then adding them OR TRYING lol to add them to like 4 meals all at once and it destroyed my guts

May could just try 1 meal at a time for a few days, then another etc
I was much more comfortable doing that approach
So was my wife (far less “ OMG what the fuck is that smell” moments)

Nope the Metformin does not give me gas or stomach issues at all. Just noticed I got some gas once I started upping my veggies. Also noticed I stay full longer which is a plus. Was curious if Metformin would help this issue as I took 500mgs at night and next morning no farts!!
 
Well the full spectrum digest enzymes worked great and I feel way better when eating. Wish I would have added these a while ago. I must not have been digesting my food all that well.

Maybe you were not aware, but cooked vegetables have much less nutrients than raw. They can leach out during cooking, be damaged by heat or in the case of peppers the vitamin C just oxidizes very quickly when cut and exposed to air. Thread is about vegetables, not ALL food.
 
Digestive enzymes does it for me all the time!
