Keep Moving
I first injured my lower back when I was 12, fast bowling for rep cricket. I have a small tear in my disc.
Ive tried pretty everything and the only thing that really helps mine is movement. Once it gets really bad then I have to rest up a bit. But for prevention lots of walking is the best thing for mine. My back is the worst when Ive had office jobs, sitting round too much.
Chriopracters have told me I should never squat or deadlift or anything that loads it. But as long as I keep moving everyday Im good. Stretching makes mine worse.
