I also used a 2:1 ratio of PWO carbs:whey protein. Worked well for me. I used a 50/50 mix of maltodextrin/dextrose (find it at trueprotein.com, discount code: GAN554, LOL) along with some whey protein as well as whatever supplements I was taking that were beneficial at this time, i.e. glutamine, BCAAs, creatine, multivit/multimin, vitamin c, e, b-6, etc. The malto allowed my system not to crash. I was used to using plain old dextrose or grape juice, but the rush was so intense that I'd feel like I was going to pass out. Felt like I wasn't getting enough oxygen or something. Not so good when you're about to drive home.
