Dose vs time- results and sides

I'm interested in getting a few of the vets (35 and older) take on the following question.
Do you feel that you obtain better results with less sides by taking less test over longer periods of time. Example being take 20 grams of test of your choice -standard 250mg per gram, naturally someone could take 500mg weekly for 10 weeks or take 250mg for 20 weeks.

What have you found left the best long term results with the least sides. Personally I am inclined to be in the middle with say 375mg a week for 15 weeks, but then again I don't compete. What are your thoughts?
 
Id say it depends on the person. As for the guys who are freaky big, it takes a certain amount of test to simply maintain their size. Many of your big guys are on test year round and cycle other aas to increase.

Keeping gains depends on how you eat and train during cycle and more importantly once your off cycle. You cannot simply hit the gym, eat like a horse, and load up on gear and then go to being lax after your 10, 15, or even 50 week cycle and expect to keep your gains.

Thanks for reply, taking a consensus really. From a personal standpoint, I like the idea of having a longer smaller dose. I favor this probably due to knowing that training and eating are very consistant and solid. Definately different people will have different goals here, just curious to see what some of the elder statesman who aren't after massive gains think about topic. I know Emric had a thread suggesting something like 200mg of test a week could bring on good gains. Like you suggested food and training are equal comonents here.

If you're looking to maintain your natural production better off going with higher dose short term with proper pct. If you are going to do 250 for 20 weeks you might as well just stay on. I did a 20 week cycle at 325 mg and now I am hypo at 26.
 
Hypogonadal? So you're on hrt now or what? Can you have kids (do you have any sperm production)?

Thanks for input here. I definately would want to avoid that. At 40 I have perfect funtion. Shit if the wind blows, I get a hard on. Might limit next cycle to 12-15 weeks unless I use prop and keep it shorter.

I finally decided to take my doc's advice and go on hrt. He's says I shouldn't have any problem with sperm production.

If you still have perfect natural production you definately should try to maintain that, because it sucks knowing you have to rely on hrt for normal levels, especially when you have to constantly battle the side effects. I say moderate dose of test, no more than 12 weeks, ample time off, and lots of peptides.

Thanks Pete, that is the thread that got me thinking in the first place. Right now I am only after say 10 more pounds of muscle mass with about 5-10 pounds of fat loss. Certainly no reason to go on a crazy cycle with endless substances to accomplish this. 99% of my lifting career has been natural to date. That said a bit of extra test might go a long way;)

Thanks for the advice ridge. I am certain that I could nicely rebound from a cycle like this. As far as peptides, I am in Australia, so that is damn near impossible:(

Aint that the truth about experimental with all components of bodybuilding. What works well for some whether it is training, diet, and training might not for the next person.
