Dumb Fina Conversion Question

I know why am i converting myself, but I am, any tips on filtering, It seems like it damn near takes a year to filter and my hand seems to die after. I follow the instructions carefully, dissolve, let sit, then, heat up, then start to filter, but if anyone has any other ideas Im open.

Not much you can do, it just takes a long time. You can switch to a 3cc syringe, which will create more pressure and push the oil through the filter faster, but you have to be careful because you can blow out the filter pretty easy.

I see alot of people having this porblem..I think you may be tryin to push it too fast through the filter..Everytime I have tried (with the exception of 2) it has gone through very smooth with not problems...But the 2 times I was rushed I tried to get it through too fast and it got cloged...

There is a new way to filter I will try and fing the pic and post it for you..

I always pre-filtered it first with a coffee filter.

Heat the solution so that it's plenty warm, but not too hot to handle comfortable. Just put your batch of unfiltered stuff on a hotplate and leave there while you're filtering (Be careful not to let it get too hot though). That will make it much easier to filter. As far as tips go... I recommend filtering it first with a .45um filter and then again with a .22um filter at least once. You'll see a huge difference in color and clarity of the solution. If you filter it twice with a .22 (using a new filter for the second time around obviously) then the solution should be very nearly clear. It will only be slightly darker than the oil alone. It'll have alot less sting to it too.

I use coffee filter first too. Heated solution.
Then I also heat before using sterile filter.
these things help alot-but it still takes forever and my hand aches too!

Heh heh... indeed. Those .45s aren't too bad, but those .22s are a bitch. lol.
