Anyone ever had one? Did it help? How bad was the procedure? It is for a ruptured disc.

I had one after i a car accident for a bulged disk. It helped with my pain.

they knocked me out for the shot and stuff so it was a real easy proceadure.

they just want to sedate me so i will still be awake! That is what worries me!

i had 6 of them . the first is the worst but all the others were easy . just try to not look at that fucking needle and you shouldn't feel too much pain . these are pretty precise injections , usually done under an MRI or CT .

wake

yeah its probably the biggest needle youve ever seen.... so dont look at it.

I had one last week in my low back. They knocked me out for it. Wasn't that bad at all. I was back in the gym the next day. Unfortunately, it didn't help me that much.

I have had several, but they never helped. Mine were done by xray with the needle being guided in very carefully. I was awake for all of mine, just with the area of the back being numbed with meds. A uncomfortable procedure but within a few hours you will feel fine. Ice the area immediately after the procedure it will help. I ended up having a disc fusion with 2 rods and 4 screws put in place. I am almost 3 months post surgery still dealing with some pain. Therapy to start soon. Good luck

I was scheduled to have it done and ended up not getting the first one because they were 5 hours behind and I had already fasted for 12hrs, fuck that. I'm scheduled for two more but thanks to my physical therapy I don't think I am going to get them. I ran tonight on the treadmill for the first time in MONTHS! I have a fully herniated L4/L5 disk. Look around at physical therapists and see who has a Med Ex machine, specifically designed for the back/spine. They combine it with stretches and massage as well as other exercises, results have been phenominal. Best of luck, I literally feel your pain.

they'll pry give you propofol to sedate you. You'll also pry get bupivicaine to numb the space. possibly some versed or fentanyl.
are you getting Betamethasone (Soluspan)?

Intense,

Just had a C7 done a few hours ago. Piece of cake!

A couple of injections of lidocaine as a local anesthetic - since this is in the back, there's NO pain with this. Then the epidural - yuo can feel some pressure, but no pain. They do this under fluoroscopy (real-time x-ray video), so first they put in a little contrast die to see if the needle is placed right. THen in goes the epidural. Yuo won't feel either, nor the needle being removed. THen a band-aid, and yuo're good to go!

Takes 3-5 days for the effect to begin, and up to two weeks for maximal results. They want yuo to take it easy and not do upper body for a couple of days, then yuo can do whatever yuo want!
