Intense,
Just had a C7 done a few hours ago. Piece of cake!
A couple of injections of lidocaine as a local anesthetic - since this is in the back, there's NO pain with this. Then the epidural - yuo can feel some pressure, but no pain. They do this under fluoroscopy (real-time x-ray video), so first they put in a little contrast die to see if the needle is placed right. THen in goes the epidural. Yuo won't feel either, nor the needle being removed. THen a band-aid, and yuo're good to go!
Takes 3-5 days for the effect to begin, and up to two weeks for maximal results. They want yuo to take it easy and not do upper body for a couple of days, then yuo can do whatever yuo want!
