feel lump above collarbone,,lymphoma?

I felt a swollen lymph node under my collar bone today on the left side. Did research online (even on one of those lymphoma forums) and this doesnt sound good at all. I dont have insurance but im going to have to go to a doc I guess. I guess what im looking for is has anyone ever had anything like this and turned out to be okay? Im pretty scared its lymphoma (cancer). I guess its better it happened to me who isnt doing shit with his life than someone who is married has kids and a family etc. Very scared right now.

definitely get it checked even if you have to pay out of pocket. there are so many things it could be so i would not jump to the conclusion that it is cancer and get yourself all worked up. i know how this feels i had a similar scare with a lump on one of my nuts. i was convinced for two weeks i had cancer and then went to the doc and found out it was a very common problem that required no treatment. again get it checked out but i have a feeling you are ok. good luck bro

Get it checked.Could be swollen for other reasons.Keep a positive attitude friend. Often its too easy to read some symtoms on a web site & think the worst.

just reading the cancer forum, all the people there or about 80% of them it started just like mine, lump above the collar bone. looking at their posts and avatars some are young girls in colllege or their 20's who are very pretty, people who are married and have kids, its just very sad and depressing. im kinda numb right now. it seems like ever since i joined promuscle there are alot of posts about health (where other boards are about AAS and diet) and the more i read about people having heart probs, aas probs, etc ive become very paranoid about my health, very scared something bad is going to happen. i just hope somehow if this isnt cancer i want to be a better person than i have been.

Yeah, dont worry about a medical problem that chances are you dont have. Tumors are more likely to be benign than cancerous. The only way I would worry a whole lot is if you have a family history of cancer. Chances are its not cancer and they will just remove it and that will be that. You are doing the right thing though getting it looked at. Theyll probably take a small biopsy and send it off to a pathologist to look at under the scope.

Relax, Bro. It's statistically unlikely. We have a lot of lymph nodes and they get swolen sometimes.

Yes, Ive had swollen nodes in different places and I shit myself too, thinking the worst. Sometimes, its an allergy, little infection or whatever. I had a sore neck for a month, right around the trachea...AND I was using tobacco for a long time. I thought I was a goner. Turns out it was a cracked piece of cartilage, probably happened from straining during dead-lifts said the Doc.

Point is it can be a lot of things. Relax and get it checked. Hang in there and let us know how it turns out!

Bro, don't be so quick to think it's lymphoma. It could be infection, inflammation, etc. But the worst thing you could do is not get treated... A GP may be able to run a biopsy, and send it off to get tested as well.

Bro, please relax, don't have that negative attitude, I have had lumps pop up on different places on me, I just the last one checked out, turned out to be a ganglian scist,( just realize I don't know how to spell scist), oh well. Don't think the worst, change your attitude, think positive, this is way more common than you think, say a sincere heart felt prayer for healing before going to the doc, The Minister here will do the same, and everything will turn out to be ok. while this could be something like a "sentinel node" which isn't good, there's no way of knowing until you get it checked out. Getting it checked out earlier rather than later is a good idea. Please just go to a doctor and have them look into it. If it is something bad, the faster they get on it the better. I'm not meaning to frighten you, just trying to get you to go to the doctor.

is it sore? If its sore it most likely means your fighting off an infection and it should go away soon or you might need anti biotics.

If its not sore, keep checking it and they say if it doesn;t go down in size in 2-3 weeks get it checked. But, I had the same thing and it took almost 2 months.

During this time lymph nodes under my armpits got swollen and sore but went away, but still had the one in my neck. It just started going down about 2 weeks ago and now it almost totally gone.

I wouldn't get really worried about it just keep an eye on it and stop reading the forums.

thanks bro. yeah its a little sore, i can feel the one on the right its not sore but much smaller. the bad one the left one, maybe a pea or 2 peas and a little sore when i start poking.

it would be a good sign if i had other swollen ones that would mean an infection. i think i can feel the ones under my jaw, but who knows maybe i can always feel them its not like i try and feel them every day. im just hoping it goes down, if not ill have to get it looked at and prey to god its not cancer. im pretty scared right now but not as scared as i was last night. on that forum alot of the ppl taht got this were just kids, even if i do end up having cancer atleast i made it to be 25.5 and got most of my good years in. thats the way im looking at it.

I wouldn't even think about it. Just check it in a couple weeks. I went through the samething reading those forums and getting scared thinking about cancer. The best thing I did was stop reading the forums and not worry about it. About every 2 weeks I would check it and finally one day I checked it and it was alot smaller, its still there but only like a pea. Mine got pretty big , but not sure if it was a node because it was never sore.

im def not sick (never get sick) so im preying it might have something to do with a cut i got at work (on my middle finger the opposite side as the swollen node) picking up a dirty oil pan out of a trash can with oil dripping on it. then the next day i got a tetnas shot (in the delt, same side as the node). however no research i have done indicted either of these things would cause a swollen node, atleast not that node that i got (the one that is usually cancer). im just gonna wait a week (no insurance) and if it doesnt go away bite the bullet and go to the doc and ill be shitting my pants to go to the doc, ive become very paranoid about my health and dying and stuff in the last year.

JUst go to the doctor! have it checked! if it is cancer the sooner you find out the better chance of recovery.

With that being said i would not just assume cancer. Once you know for sure what it is you can deal with it properly, but not knowing is far worse on you mentally. its much easier to face your demons when you know who they are.

The cut could have alot to do with it, you could of got an infection. I thought the same about cancer because my swollen node was the one they said is usually cancer but its almost gone now 2 months later

Hey bro, Your gonna wait a week??? You have all these crazy thoughts going through your mind and your gonna wait?? Why would you want to have all these thoughts for a week? It is very bad for your mind. Go to the doctor. If things are that bad financially...send me a pm and i will help you.
