Good morning Ladies,

I have a friend who is has been a beauty pageant contestant and needs to lose weight for work as a runway model by about April/09. No problem so far.

She is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 120lbs. She says she needs to lose about 8 lbs, which I think is a lot, but she knows her business. The problem is, her bodyfat is already only 14.7%, so on the low end.

I told her if she lost 8 kilos of fat ONLY which would be hard to do, it would put her at about 7% and she'd be ripped. She says she'd like to lose 8lbs and still be about 12-14%.

So basically, she's come to me for help, but she's asking to lose muscle at the same rate as fat and I have no experience with this. Any advise on what she'd need to do to slim down and still look similar in tone? Keto diet maybe? I know its a weird request, especially here, its sacriledge. She has a great figure, lean but very curvy, and she fears that if she loses that much fat, she'll lose the curves that got her the runway job.

I'd have her run or do high intensity cardio. These two activities burn calories and are pretty indiscriminate about sparing muscle.
