Good Morning,

This is my first post. Been lurking out here for a while trying to gather information about proper cycling but it's time to take the plunge.

I am 40 years old, 210 pounds about 15% fat. Looking to drop fat for a contest while preserving lean mass. Since I've never touched AAS, I'm guessing that I'll respond well, particularly as I have relatively low natural levels of test. Here is what I'm thinking:

weeks 1-12: 325 mg EW Test Cyp
weeks 3-13: 500iu HCG twice weekly
Weeks 14-17: Nolva 40/20/20/20

Diet:
Slight deficit, carbs around the workouts, taper throughout the day.

Training to remain heavy, low volume and High intensity.

My goal here it to keep it simple. Not looking to solve global warming of save the whales, just looking to drop fat and fat only. With any luck, maybe even pick up a pound or two of lean mass with proper macro timing.

I also plan to order my goods online which, honestly, freaks me out a little. But I'm using a ProM sponsor (domestic) so I'm hoping that the Gustapo won't kick in my door for personal use.

Just curious..at your age and mentioning low test levels.....why not just do HRT or TRT therapy? That way you have a script,everything is legal the the gear is legit.
 
The test amount sounds good wouldnt exceed on first b/c your gonna get good result regardless. Not sure about HCG never taken it Everything is trail and error.

Your cycle looks fine. You can save your HCG for weeks 12 and 13. Use 2000IU every 3rd day for 2 weeks leading into pct. Good luck.

Steve your cycle does look fine. I was about the same age and stats when I ran my first. Once you cross the line there is no return! (and thats not a bad thing, properly managed) :cool:

About the HCG, I disagree with Ness. use it as you have laid out, dont use it if you dont need it. I do 500iu's E5D and my balls are fine. Overuse of HCG leads to other issues, so again if you balls are full size dont use it until you need it. I would not use HCG past my last test shot, although through week 13 should be ok. Dont go longer, or use it for PCT.

Sane cycle. I am more curious about your diet though. Would you mind putting it up for us to look at? our diet is the business end of all this. Like I said, your cycle is sensible enough, let's see if the diet matches the cycle! What is your height BTW?
 
thanks to everyone so far. Very good comments, all. Re: HRT. I am low but, accoring to doc, not low enough. My last reading was around 325 total and free was also low normal. It sucks because I'm low enough to make my goals difficult to reach; not low enough to justify HRT. Also, in Mass., for those in the know, Primary Care Providers are becoming an endagered species so you cant just get another one at will, unfortunately.

For those who regularly (or not so regularly) order on line, is it relatively safe in personal quantities. a friend told me to go for it. His advice was: "don't get greedy and never send to the same addy twice".

thanks for asking. Man, I feel like a dope for not posting it earlier. I'm 5'10" by the way (210#). Right now, I am doing a 2 low/1 high regimine with respect to carbs. typical Low carb day. This is my natty diet. I would be interested in comments on how this could be enhanced to loose fat (perhaps even gain a little LBM) once I mix the T into the equation:

M1: 1Cup Dry Oatmeal, Water, 50 grams Whey Protein, 15 grams Peanut Butter (this is pre workout)
M2: (post workout) 50 grams whey, BCAA, Water. 8 oz. yam/sweet potato
M3: 6 oz. Lean meat, 1 cup Veggies
M4: same but includes 22 almonds
M5: same without Almonds
M6: Typically about a cup of cottage Cheese and 15 grams PB.

High Carb day:
M1: same
M2: same
M3: same but add a cup brown rice or 6-10 oz. Yam/potato
M4: same but drop Fat
M5: Same a meal 3
M6: 1 cup Oats, Bannana, splenda and some spices + I usually oven roast some yams and eat them with Katsup.
M7 (not a meal perse): take a few fish oil caps before bed.

I will also cook speciality items like Chili, ground beef mexican wraps etc. on weekends as a way to mix it up a bit.

I will become more strict as time goes on.

That's it. I lost 3 pounds each week over the past two weeks so I increased the carbs a little. Don't really want to be loosing it that fast.

You know, I'm wondering if, given this is my first ever cycle, if I should just limit it to 10 weeks and 300mg/week so that I'll have another cycle on hand. since my goal is just to cut while preserving LBM, I'm thiking 300 would probably just fine. Could be fine even for growth. Any thoughts?

That exactly what I would do. As you get older you realize there is just no hurry. I went from 400mg/wk to 500mg/wk to 750mg/wk and each time had nothing but problems. Bloating, high blood pressure, high blood lipids and other sides. My last 3 cycles proved very effective in terms of gains since I didn't need to worry about aromitization so much. My last 3 cycles I've been using 375mg/wk. No sides and good gains.

Man, that's good to know ojs! Not even any bloating on 375! I've been hearing this more and more from guys lately that taking too much does nothing much more than enhance the side effects.
 
i think 300mg week is perfect..

pick up some nolva/clomid and search for a good pct

10 weeks sounds short to me, but i like longer cycles at lower dosages...

but since this is your first run, 10 weeks is just fine
