He isn't going to be able to do much except wait for this to pass by. I'd have him drop the test back down to 250mg/wk since he doesn't want to deal with a total crash during this bout of Mononucleosis. He'll have this anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks in duration. If he was like me, he'll want to get a script for some pain meds because the sore throat is pretty intense for weeks. Antibiotics will not do anything since Mono is a viral infection. He needs to stay hydrated, continue to eat small meals when he can, and just rest and sleep until this passes. Since Mono can be fairly hard on the liver, i'd recommend some liver protectants....even if they do not help at all, they will not necessarily hurt anything either.
Here's a opening for TP/Dante's Beef Protein Isolate to come in handy for this situation.....he can use the BPI in a broth to stay hydrated, while getting protein in as well. He's not gonna want to eat much, since the sore throat will be killer, so the BPI/broth will help a lot.
So here's what i'd recommend:
1. Rest and sleep as much as possible.
2. Refrain from all physical activity (do a search on Mono + Spleen).
3. Stay hydrated
4. Have the MD write a Rx for pain Meds (I used Vicodin) for the sore throat pain and fever.
5. Eat small frequent meals.
6. See if BPI/broths can be of benefit (wish i had this option when I had Mono)
7. throw in some liver protectants
8. Avoid crashing by stuill using a small amount of test. AAS crash + Mono would suck.
I've probably missed some things, but i'm sure if anybody else reads this, then they can chime in
