getting the bug to compete, input welcome

Getting the itch to do a show and with gooey getting geared up, I too am feeling the angst. This picture is taken about 10 months after having shoulder surgery that required a plate and a few screws, compliments of gooey! So my upper body isn't what I would have liked, but you work with what you've got. It was taken about 2.5 years ago, my last show, and have been working on lat width and the obvious arm struggle. I just do not like training arms very much. In this picture I am about 235lbs, 5'10" and 38 years old.

Any criticism is welcomed and may see if phil has time to take on another client.

I knew a guy with a physique very similar to yours, but his face wasn't so pale! Actually, I didn't get to see your show when you won that year, I got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere Illinois, but when I stayed at your place this past spring I saw some pics, you looked great! You know what you're doing, I think you'd do well no matter what show you enter.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. The past few years I have really floundered but have managed to save some muscle, hovering around 250-260. I own a business and have opened another office in a city about 30 miles away, so time has been very limited. However, I do want to get back on stage sometime soon.

luvcalifornia, gooey has some pictures on this board I believe.

JBK, You gotta stop driving the 3 body-trunk, too much weight. How many times I gotta tell ya that! And those sheets when you stayed at my place...never washed. And on leg day, I wrap myself inside and let the grease soak in...proves for killer leg days!

Stroyer, I have just started giving arms their own day, first time I have ever trained this way. I made the mistake of training arms with gooey recently and popped something in my low bicep, upper forearm and it is still sore. So my lack of enthusiasm for arms certainly shows, but will have to be corrected to be competitive.

Here is a true champion. A best friend, and a mentor to me. And most importantly a FREAK I have never seen a person who can not eat, injure themselves, and go without training for periods of times and still retain the muscle tissue he does. In two words unfair and sick! Weve been buggin him to put on his trunks again and flex those muscle bellies onstage and we keep gettin those im too old excuses... yea right! He looks better then some 20 year olds on stage. Its time, the stage, pro-tan, dehydration, mood swings, pump room gas, and the miserable feeling of not eating naughty foods for weeks misses u. As for me Im waiting for my Joe Boxer modeling career to take off, but itd only take me a couple of weeks to get ready for a show
