The mount was in my parents home 2 block off the beach in Pass Christian , MS , I was in Kiln MS for the storm. The Pass got about 28 feet of storm surge , the neighborhood my folks were is was wipped clean off the map. My home is in Slidell , LA about 20 miles north of New Orleans , I got about 4 feet here.
Kansas is one of the best kept secrets in deer hunting but the words getting out fast , its definatly on my list of places to consider if I ever hit the loto!!
I've geared myself more to archery hunting lately as I haven't been out of state hunting in a few years but being an archery hunter has its bonuses , the seasons are generaly aot earlier in the year so the weather plays a big factor both good and bad , I've been on Elk hunts where it was 85 degs and nothing was moving ,but they're are not nearly as many people willing to drop their money on a bow hunt so the chances of hunting a coveted area like Arizona for Elk is ALOT better , thats where I killed my bull and I put in for the same areas for 3 years before I was drawn. They say the chances of getting an out of state rifle tage for Arizona Elk are less than hitting the powerball lottery. ALSO , check into hunting some reservations , they are allowed to prettymuch set their seasons their and getting a tag can bea alot easier if your willing to pay for it.
