Shit thats a beast , we have a big gator on our lease bout 10 feet or so , that fucker is huge , its amazing how much differance in weight their is at that size , a gator a foot shorter could be 200-300lbs lighter.

You wouldn't be pulling our leg would you. 13 footers aren't that common especially in North Florida. A 13 footer would be more apt to be found Central to South Florida. Maybe Lake Okeechobee or Lake Jessup.

I hunt turkey and deer only and yes we eat everything we kill. We have a local butcher who cuts and packages everything up after we skin it.

I love the mountains and just getting away from it all. It's nothing more peaceful than walking through the woods as the sun comes up and everything around you comes alive. But no people or cars or any other bullshit distracting you....just you and the wildlife.

I hunt for meat 99% of the time (no trophies down this far) but I do make a trip out west for elk every other year or so , the goal is a trouphy bull but they all eat well.

Thats an alligator and I'm sure that anybody that hunt them know how good the meat it , some folks only eat the tail but on a gator that big you can get 4 good roast and some ribs to!!

I hate it but somtimes animals need to to be killed off for their own good otherwise disease will infect the population , this has show itself to be true with whitetaile deer and the CWD thats spreading very very fast. Their are more whitailed deer in the US rightnow than at any other point in recorded history. Alligators are making a great comback also and like everything else their will have to be limits set to what can be allowed to grow in an area and what can be taken off of it.

JC , how do yall catch them , just ease up and shoot them in shallow water or catch them on limb lines and shoot them?

Yea , I've waded accross sections of the Milk river , if I saw one of those while I was waist deep I may have made some poodin in the bibs.

We have one in our area that gets spotted from time to time that is said to be over 15 feet , I've seen him but from a ways off and coulden't judge his size.
They don't get that big being dumb and showing themselves off all the time. That big girl has probably been around since the Civil War

You ever eat at Cedar Rivers Restaurant? I don't know how it is today, but many years ago it was a really good place to eat at.

Congratulations on getting a very nice gator. I hope to get drawn for a gator tag next year.

yeah, cedar river is okay. but i am not a big seafood guy. i would much rather find a bbq joint and eat some chicken or beef (muscle food..lol).

we got the gator a little further south in welaka. we have a house down there just south of palaka so we stayed there due to it getting so late after we caught her.
