I just wanted to share with my ProMuscle brotherhood that today is my daughter Gabrielle's 16th birthday. She always makes fun of my bodybuilding lifestyle so I thought it would be kind of cool to make a birthday card for her on the website that is the epitomy of bodybuilding and she can have birthday wishes bestowed upon her by all of the "muscleheads."
It seems like only yesterday you were born. Marilyn and I were living in a 2 bedroom apartment in a not so great side of town, in Jacksonville, Florida. It was a record cold night when Marilyn awoke me and said it was time. I loaded her in my 1968 Pontiac Lemans and off we went. It was late at night and upon arriving at the hospital, I remember trying several different entrances before finding one that was unlocked.
Gabrielle,
All night your mother was in labor and finally at 9:24AM my life changed forever as you came into this world. I remember my first impression, you were was almost purple and then she turned a more human like pink. I still remember the sound of your cry as it had a "nang" sound. I will always remember what I felt like the first time that I held you and looked into you beautiful face and all the emotion that weld up inside of me. In the room the TV was on ESPN and I remember that Purdue and Indiana had played basketball that night and I saw the end of it. Then they replayed it twice, with repeated Sportscenters over and over in between and around it. By the early morning I never wanted to watch Sportscenter again. In the middle of the labor and all of verbal insults I endured from your mother..lol....was some interns that came in and the doctor asked if I minded if they observed and assisted. After telling them no problem I remember thinking "I can't believe these dudes are seeing my wife naked!"
Gabrielle, I love you very much my darling and you were a blessing to your Mother and I. I can't believe that little 7LB and so many ounces crying little baby that I held in my arms has blossomed and matured into the beautiful, intelligent young women that you are today.
All of my love and Happy Birthday.
