I see on another site that Mike Matarazzo had no health Insurance and is in debt 200,000 to the hospital. GET HEALTH INSURANCE! People, fellow BBers, are telling him to not pay it, just throw away the bill because he cant be expected to pay it.That is embarassing to our sport. If you can afford to take AAS, you can afford to get health insurance. I am sure Mike would tell you the same thing. These young idiotic BBers who think that they are the next Mr. O giving him this advice makes me want to puke. Be accountable. LIfe is not all about getting as big as we can and telling everyone else to fuck off. These surgeons need to pay the bills also, so does the hospital. Do you realize how much doctors pay for liability insurance each year? Some peopl ein this sport that talk about god and helping others then turn around and push this advice just slay me.

phil i agree with you it is his responsibility, however no one can or should be expected to pay 200k back to the hospital unless they are very wealthy. but he should do what he can to pay it back though.

should of had insurance though like you said, heck what is it maybe 200/month, its worth it when something like this happens. makes me realize how much i appreciate my work picking up the tab.

I am sure one day hospitals are going to tire of cases like this and say, GO AWAY. Then what does the person do? If people do not pay their debts, how can they continue to get care? Would you tire of working for free? I would. If I had to get up in the middle of the night, after going to school for 18 years, and operate on a person for 9 hours to save their life, and not get a dime, I would stop getting up in the middle of the night.

It's ironic to think that at one time, people would take death over not being able to meet there obligations. Compassion does go out to those who are down and out and have to choose between paying an electric bill or putting food on the table. But like was said above, if you can afford gear but not health insurance, a priority check may be in order...

Good Point

There is a big difference.

Since this thread came up, anyone know a good hospital insurance plan a self employed person with no employees can get?

One has to also remember it can be tough for a bodybuilder to get health insurance. Walking around, for e.g., 230lbs at 5'9 would deem you "obese"! They don't care that it is muscle. You are just off the charts with that kind
of weight and might either be denied insurance or charged double the premium, making it totally unaffordable!

this subject piss's me ...

i saw the thread about the "Not paying hospitail bills " cant beleive those kids ,who raised these ass holes ,,
this is how i was taught and brought up , "you never ever drive without insurance and never be a second without health insurance ,ever !, if you are not getting with your job ,spose or parents then you buy insurance to cover catistropic injury or sickness. medica bills can bury you in one week !!
not paying (meaning we ALL pay for these assholes ) ) is stealing plain and simple ... move to canada and get "social medicne " or pay like man or crawl in a hole you fucking thief

Absolutly right. He was stupid for not having health insurance, plain and simple. I am coming off my parents on my upcoming bday, and already lookin into gettin it through my job, and if i cant then il get a plan with a huge deductable so im not payin a shitload, but if something REALLY bad ever happened id be covered. I think one of my friends pays like 75 bucks a month and has a 1k deductable, so regular visits aint covered, but if he ever needed surgery etc... hed be ok.

...there are people out ther who really are fuckin broke and can't afford a car and take the bus to work or jump on the back of a truck so the can go work in the field. Those people sure as hell aren't gonna be able to afford Health Insurance, but if they were sick as fuck, I'd home someone out there would do the humane thing and treat them. My sister works at the County Hospital and its full of these people all day. It takes hours to get seen in an emergency room and the Dr.s that are helping you our are just grad. Dr's doing there residency with the assistance of students doing thier clinicals. I'm not sure how much medical help you can get there, but some people really are that fuckin broke.

thta may be true in some cases yes ..but

70% of those in county hospitals getting free (meaning we pay for them )
are not even citizens of this country i say to all illegal imigrants doing this
is go home fuckers or die on the street ,really dont care about your health or paying your bills

I have never had health insurance. When I needed a Dr I paid cash. If you do or don't have health insurance is a personal choice. UNLESS you use the hospitals and do not pay.

thats what the programs are set up for the few people that are in tough times ,we do pay and have programs for citizens of this United States !
and thats greta and good for hard times 70% OF THESE PEOPLE WORK THE SYSTEM ..NOT USE THE PROGRAMS WHEN IN HARD TIMES .NOT USE FOR YOUR LIFETIME LIKE THESE LEACHES DO

Well true some people ARE just that poor. But i believe if your that poor you can get some kind of assistance plan from the state (not welfare) so you will be partially covered and youl be ok. I do however agree we shouldnt have to pay for their bills n shit. Especially if they are here illegally and dont even speak english lol. Those fuckers i could care less about, deport their asses.

It is a personal choice

Exactly ;) That is why I have started looking for insurance and am comparing various companies. If anyone has one they like let me know.

I can not understand someone who is messing with his body using steroids (and insulin and...) NOT taking a health insurance. How naive can you be to think nothing will happen
