"Heart of Dixie" show in Mobile , AL

I was wondering if any of you guys have done , pan to do or have been to the Heart of Dixie body building show in Mobile Alabama , its August 22 this year. This is the show I plan to get my feet wet with and was just wondering what how it was run.

I've been to a couple shows that were seeming thrown together without much thought to lighting or stage appearance for the competitors and it ended up having them look like crap. The Heart of Dixie is a pretty old show so I assume that its fairly well run but it says that its held in a highschool gym so I was wondering?

I competed in the Heart of Dixie a couple years ago. I was runner-up in novice class and in the Mr. Mobile class. The compeitior that beat me was Jason's manager of his gym, and of course Jason is the one who puts on the show. A lot of people complained of favoritism but who knows.

Overall, I enjoyed me expierence. The lighting was good but the filiming was horrible because they shot from high up onto the compeitors. When I competed it was about 17 novice compeitors so a lot of good compeition. Last year it wasn't so much.

well , I hope its a good show , I'd hate for my first time to be a bad one due to poor setup and such.
What class is your frined competing in? I'll be a novice in the super heavyweights , and from what everybody tells me their are little to no novices competing in the supers

Don't worry about crap like this it's a bodybuilding show not losing your virginity. Prepare yourself to be the best version of yourself ever. Train like Godzilla, King Kong, and Rhodan will be in your class. Put all other stuff out of your mind it shouldn't matter about stage, settup, if they have the show in the parking lot or the Taj Majol it makes no difference. You built a package now just point me in the direction where I can display it.

Yea thats what I'm thinking , I've just heard of guys getting realy turned off because of a poorly run show and not wanting to compete anymore , but for the most part everybody says that no mater what its a good time , I'm sure they are all what you make of them.

I'm not doing this to try and make a living at it , just basicaly trying to meet a goal i had set for myself.

I told the wife i was gonna do just to say that I did and I'm already making plans for next year !! , she said this is gonna be like the SCUBA diving thing isin't it.
I bought all my stuff cheap and used just to get the hang of it to see what it was about and ended up with a whole bunch of stuff from spearfishing to swift water rescue equiptment.
