Help with elbow pain!

Anyone out there know how to fix elbow pain? I haven't done heavy skull crushers for over a year now due to the severe pain. Bench press doesn't hurt as bad just sore after, but skull crushers are impossible. I've tried ART (active release technique) which helped for a few months but the pain has returned. I've considered Prolotherapy if anyone has tried it let me know how it went. Please help I don't want surgery.
 
have you tried doing skull crushers on decline? i can do them on decline but not flat bench.

You may need to just remove that exercise from your routine.
 
^^^^ thats true,i did not do them for several and started back doing them on decline bench and that works fine for me but as mentioned you might have to drop it alltogether
 
Same problem

I have the same problem and have just learned to work around it. I have been to the doctor and they do the usual, prescribe corticosteroids, offer injections, etc.

The only thing that has worked for me is changing up my routine, which does suck but has helped. The doctor did order some Toradol/Ibuprophen compounded into a cream, which does offer decent topical relief. Might ask your doc about that!

Agree

Change your routine around until the elbow heals. You may have to just go lighter in certain exercises until it feels better. When I come off cycle I always have issues with my elbows for at least 8 weeks.
 
i have had golfers elbows for one month. dmso and massage is helping but im still not 100% it sucks.

That sucks. I use to do skull crushers and now the thought of them makes my elbows hurt. They feel like they are splitting down the middle. Same with doing tricep pulldowns. I can only do tricep workouts twice a month but it seems to be okay, they haven't lost any size.
 
It sounds like I'm not the only one with this problem. They are no longer a lift that I can do. Every few months I'll try it it out with a light weight to see how it feels but usually ends up being 5 reps and done because of the extreme pain. I will dry decline skull crushers tomorrow to see if they are better.

Now both my elbows are killing me. I just bought a pair of Harbinger wraps and am gonna give them a try. Can anyone recommend some good triceps exercises that could be substituted? Skull crushers seem to be great for mass but kill my elbows, close grip benches aren't much better. Pushdowns don't hurt too bad and I can work my way up to the whole rack. Do I just need to stick with these? Am I just gonna have to learn to live with the pain or will the joints strengthen/heal over time?

Any advice would be appreciated greatly!!
 
I have suffer from the same issue but it only starts hurting if armwreseling or similar movement with lots of weight, then I just stop doin anything that could make it hurt, till it goes away this time it hurts more than usual but. wouLdnt deca fix the problem?
