HELP WITH GETTING SCHOLARSHIPS?

Can anyone help me with some ways to seek out scholarships for Therapy School? It will be tough paying the tuition and I am lookin into anyway to save some cash...I am doing some research so if anybody knows more about this stuff then me lemme know

I'm a nurse- this is what I did.

1) Try www.fastweb.com

Fill out an enormous amount of questions and then they plug your data into the various scholarships around the country. They then email you if you qualify for any.

2) Government grants/scholarships: agree to work in an "under-served" community for a year or two after graduation.

3) Pell grant: if you work in a hospital after graduation you apply for a waiver "in anticipation" of working there for a year. After a year, send in a letter from your boss.

I still paid a decent amount, but I also saved several thousand this way.

Move to Georgia. Establish residency. Wait year. Apply for Hope Scholarship funded by the lottery. Enjoy.

It is amazing how many people in Georgia get and use the Hope Scholarship. It has also had the effect of keeping a lot of great students in state. It can be used at a variety of educational facilities not just the major universities.

Perkins loan NOT Pell

Ever since my last post on this something has been nagging me about the loan name. I finally realized tonight, it's NOT Pell, but PERKINS loan.

This is the loan where you work in a medical field and then sign a waiver "cancellation in anticipation of working for one year" (you don't pay your loan during that year), then after the one year, you send in another form filled by your boss and that amount is wiped off what you owe.

I am looking at ANY PT school in Texas bro...so I am not sure which one will except me BUT if you guys know any of them that do please lemme know. I am currently researching right now but it seems most of the info is under-wraps or something???

ANd Pek...I DEFINATELY would be willing to move to Georgia if it meant my school would be paid for!!! But I dont know how I could be sure if i was gunna get it ya know...I wouldnt wanna move there for nothing

Texas Womens University in Denton Texas has a great program... plus they have 6,000 students and as you can guess by the name, 99% are females. The University of North Texas is in the same town with around 33,000 students. A very fun city to go to college in!!
