Hi everybody!!!
I `m trying to build some muscle, but this time is my first time in my live,I always did low calorie diet!!!So I don`t have any muscle, and I need to have muscle especially in my back because I have scoliosis ,back problems....
my question is how many calories should i eat per day to build muscle and still lose fat?I want to lose 10 more pounds!!!
I`m 5`7 my weight 135 and my body fat is 17%,but I want to build long and lean muscle, should I do cardio every day???I`m eating 1700 kcl per day and almost 189grams of protein 30% carb 20% fat.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee SOMEONE help me!!!!
THANKS A LOT

First -Welcome to the board!

Next - don't think I'm too big an ass! ;)

What does your weight have to do with ANYTHING?!?! With what you've said above, you're not too heavy in my eyes. If you're truly at 17%, you look good. I've yet to meet a gal that was at 17% BF that I'd kick outta bed for eatin' crackers.

Really - - you need to give us some more info about your activity level. Because of your "condition," are you able to workout with any weights? How often? What is your metabolism like - slow (endomorph-like), fast (ectomorph-like) or good (mesomorph-like, sounds like you could be).

There was a college cheerleader that worked at my gym (when I went to the gym). She was built like a brick shithouse (sorry - she was VERY hot). About 5' 3" and weighed 135 lbs - but you'd have NEVER guessed her weight - it was a lot of muscle! She too was fixated on her weight. I just don't understand women and their adoration for the scale     :D

At 135 I would think that you look very good. I don't think that a 10 pound weight loss would help anyhting but the all too common "scale addiction." I would suggest searching around and asking the local experts to set you up with a program that will work for you and your back condition. At that weight just try to tone up and better yourself physically and mentally. Good luck

Your body fat % and weight seem pretty good already. Do you want to lose the weight for health reasons, such as putting a little less stress on your back or do you want to lose it for looks?

not to sound like a PILATES fella here, but I would hit a couple classes and learn about core strength and how to engauge your abs and back muscles on each movement...as a trainer, I notice women love to pull with their arms way too much. My suggestion is to think of your arms as hooks and let your back move the weight. The stronger your back and abs are, the better off you are going to be. DO NOT skip out on other parts of your body...you need a well balanced body when it comes to weight training. If your chest and shoulders are too strong for your back, it will pull your shoulders forward and make your back even worse...or if you neglect your lower back, you will find as other parts of your body get stronger and your weight increases on other lifts, you will find your lower back getting worse...another is hammies too tight...that will pull your pelvic offline and cause lower back pain issues.

Anyways, DITCH the SCALE, use a tape measure and body fat. use the mirror too and how your clothes fit. The scale is a death trap for women.

hope this helps along with what other people stated??
