Some really great information here, thank you to all, as im really trying to get this in control...its really greatly appreciated.
To get a little further into my situation, i suffer from an A/V block also known as a conduction disorder. So many of the meds most often used for BP issues, can actually worsen my condition. Like cancer, my condition is viewed in stages...stage 1 (what i have) is considered mild enough to not be life threatening. Stage 2 is when they start to get concerned, and start to treat aggressively. Stage 3 you are now in need of a pacemaker, which sadly is the only option left at that point. Meds that are either beta blockers, or calcium channel blockers can actually cause conduction blocks, or make them worse if you are already dealing with the condition. So at this point im lost as to what other options i have, because it seems all the meds given to me, are exactly the ones that i cant use.
With regards to diet, and cardio...I eat A LOT of leafy green veggies, eat fruits daily, use coconut oil, cut out dairy..using almond milk now. I get an avg. of 15-20 miles of bike riding 4 times per week, i use a HIIT style of cardio in the gym, and i also weight train. I dont smoke, drink, nor use any forms of street drugs at all. Unfortunately high BP runs on both sides of my family, and my father had 2 heart attacks in his late 40's early 50's.
I am even starting to cut down in size, but nothing at all seems to help me with my BP issues.
