How do I maintain my diet during a long flight?

I am traveling overseas in a few days and the whole flight takes more than 24hours with the layover, flight time, etc. I have been maintaining a strict diet lately and don't want to f... it up. What do you all recommend that I do? Can I take a small cooler with me with all my food in it? Or at least a few muscle milk RTDs, a couple of bananas, and some liquid whey protein shots? I just don't wanna take all this stuff with me to later find out that I can't take any of it with me on the flight. Probably, they won't allow any liquids anyway.

There are most probably competitive bros here that travel overseas for competitions, guest posing, etc. What do you all do when you have to endure a long flight?

Or am I just being too obsessive and just one day of airport/plane food won't ruin everything? The food they serve on the plane sucks, though.

Your thoughts & suggestions are appreciated.

I think you are really over thinking this. It's just a plain ride, relax! Unless you are going to compete at the world championships hang loose! everything will be fine....
 
i hear you. i think i get too obsessive sometimes trying to plan for every little detail.

and no, i am not going to compete at the world championships :)

perhaps i should just try to enjoy some bigmacs at the airport mcd.
 
When I travel and am on a diet, I carry with me protein bars and bananas. I also pick up one or 2 meals from the restaurants that are in the airport before I get on my flight. I find that this really helps because the airplane food tastes like shit unless you're in first class.
 
liquid protein drinks are going to be a no-go. they wont let you in the airport with them. bring youre powder in baggies, or in a small jug that will fit in your carry on, and bring shaker cups with you. then while youre on the plane just ask the stewardesses for water to mix it with, or buy waters there after youve gone through security.
 
Maybe im ocd but i figure that if I pack my meals every day...traveling is just another day like any other so I pack my meals just like normal. Ive never really looked at it as obsessive...just routine.
 
bring your protein powders and a few shaker cups with you. i'm cheap so i often fill the shaker cups at the water fountains at the airport so i can avoid buying 3 dollar 20oz water bottles. don't bring any rtd's as those are liquids and will be taken away. i also bring a bunch of meals with me in my carry on, no cooler. i figure that if the food is relatively fresh then it won't go bad. so far it has been able to last for the time that i travel (about 14hrs or so)

eat at the chilis to gos at all the airports
 
Protein shots & Bananas! TSA doesn't like liquids over 4oz. They confiscated my natural peanut butter on my last trip home.
 
Get a cooler or you can even use a plastic bag and just put a few meals in zip lock bags in there...you cant travel with ice packs so just bring some extra zip locks and get ice at the airport and then more on the plane when it melts.

Very simple...
 
ummm....I would just not worry about it really. I really doubt you are going to lose any muscle during that time. I'd just enjoy the plane foods, have a drink if need be, relax, and try to enjoy your flight. Take an ipod and try to rest when you can.

Maybe join the "mile High Club?":D
