How To Eat Over 7,000 Mostly Clean Calories In A Day

In 2018 I spent about two weeks in Atlanta because the girl I was with at the time had surgery at the Center For Endometriosis Care.

We stayed in a house in Edgewood and I thoroughly enjoyed it - I left the neighborhood every day through the Krog tunnel. The LA Fitness at Ainsley Mall was only about 10 minutes away (the GM has family in Dallas and hooked me up with a 30 day pass) and I found a co-op close by that had a lot of the foods and household products I used at home.

There was a Nana G's Chicken & Waffles a few block from the house and a Fox Bros. BBQ about 10 minutes away. I was on a rebound so lots of good eating was done.

And I totally agree on traffic - Atlanta was by far the worst I've experienced anywhere.
I spent about 4 months in Peachtree for work and really liked it there. Those tall ass Georgia pines. They all drove golf carts to get around out there.
They filmed a lot of the Walking Dead there and on weekends I’d go tour the locations.

Awwww, now ya done tripped ya self up boss. New Orleans holds the title for good food… Fine dining, not so much, but fuck having to wear a damn jacket and tie to eat a damn meal!!! Course that’s my simple ass talking now!

Cage
I never said ATL was the best. I just said they have some good food! New Orleans is a different entity all together in every way 😂😂

Cage don't pretend like Galatoire's don't make you wear a jacket lol

Thanks for the insight Massive. Just curious, what did you weigh when you were pushing so much food?
It took me from 280 to 310 over 3 years. I did at my peak what most would consider a mild cycle today. Always bread and butter test and deca. Very little orals if at all. Limited use of insulin. GH was at 18 ius every third day to limit sides. I would estimate my very tippy top cycle of peak doses at 1200mg test blend 600 mg of deca over 12 weeks of tapering up and down with tren 225 mg a week mixed in the middle for 4 weeks.
I have been a staunch supporter and user of bromelain to help push the protein through.
My body unfortunately hates simple carbs they make me feel like shit when mixed in a meal so I never eat them unless powo.
I did try to push the doses higher and felt like absolute shit or as everyone else I would have taken more as money and sourcing top gear back then wasn't a problem. I used mostly human grade amps of sustanon and Iranian enanthate and testovirons and organon deca with serostim GH most of the time.

How long does a diet like this go on for? Indefinitely, or is it a bulking specific plan?

I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. I know a lot of guys are obsessed with the gear part of bodybuilding but I don't think that part is all that complicated. Honestly I take as much as I can handle while feeling healthy. If I start to feel unhealthy or need to bump ancillaries too much than I know my doses are too high. Although, I can get in the weeds with it when im dieting down for a specific reason. All that said, diet and training is what really interests me and it's why I pick the minds of guys that are or have reached massive size and fortunately everybody's been happy to share what they've done to get to where they've gotten.

Doitagain got me to start taking digestive Enzymes last year and I 100% agree that it is a game changer. I can push so much more food now without feeling awful afterwards and get to my next meal without feeling like its going to come back up.

310 lbs! That's a lot of weight and it's when I read things like that, it's what pushes me to do more. If you were able to push to 310, there's no reason I can't push to hit my goals. Again, appreciate you sharing all that. On that note, time to hit the gym.

Yes looking back at the times I had a lot of contact with Dante and he had some great tips on getting 2 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight down. It's hard to get that much protein down and some tips were adding the meat to some broth or light soups. I also ground my own chicken and steak. Super moist. When bulking I always tried to chew as little as possible but with the protein being moist and in crumbles it was easy to eat quickly. I always found chewing killed the appetite so when bulking it was really quick slamming food vs when dieting I would eat like a turtle. LOL.

Yep you and I were leading the food charge back then. If you create the extreme demand (training) you fill the supply (food). I truly believe the following. I really do 100% I believe i am among the top 3% of bodybuilders who have eaten the most clean food in this endeavor to get to their peak size. And I would say Massive G you are there also in that 3%. It was fork south to north for decades for me in abundance. There is guy on this board who asked me in PM's one time what i did juicewise to get up over 300lbs and i gave him my truthful answers and I could tell he didnt like it and most of all didnt believe it. I really have no reason to lie whatsoever...i really dont care...its just what i did.......I just saw some old school people die on my way up and I sure as hell wasnt going to die juicewise so i did what i did predominately food wise. I dont even want to state it because I doubt people would believe me. It is what it is and i was very simple about things juice wise. Its a lot less cooler way of doing things and you look less impressive offseason especially hardness wise but at least you dont drop dead at 45 like most of these guys who take the bullet train to glory do.

I realized early on that to go from 137 at 19 years of age to 303lbs takes never missing a meal, takes extreme adherence to the 6 meals a day (i went 3.5 years once without missing one single meal)...but most of all i learned this. If you want to weigh 220 you better fucking eat like a guy 240 because what got you to 220 does not work onward past 220. I know that is so simple to say but so many bbers lose sight of that. I got from 137 to 196 in i think in 2.5 years....and then it really was a push with extreme poundages in the gym and extreme eating to fight tooth and nail to get to 303. The most difficult path ever was 272lbs to 303. Holy Shite....it was frustrating as all hell.....the human body wants homeostasis and will fight tooth and nail against you at the top end.

I calculated out my offseason diet back then at the plus 280lb stage i think twice and once it was 7800 calories once and one time it was 8300....but remember i was working a very arduous job then so that is part of the equation. I was burning like a furnace and had to shovel it down to make gains.....I was not rich (rather poor) and my staples were those 10lb chubs of ground beef (over 90%) cooked up and then i would rinse the cooked ground beef off with hot water to remove most of the fat that came to the surface...and also 50lb bags of rice. I would cook up huge portions of those as a broke bber and I would put those in tupperware containers and eat that like 3 X a day (sometimes 4x) at work.....with a little bit of spice or condiments in it to get it down. That was a staple.

At other times I would use various soups or broths as Massive G said and put ground beef (and rice) in them. its always easy to eat soup even when your not hungry. I would do that a lot. Also when i could not fathom eating some protein then 60 plus grams of Protein drinks at certain times with oatmeal or rice. If i was just done with eating but I knew i needed to get down something I would go buy a bunch of chicken wings. But back then those chicken wings werent like the battered crap ones you see now...they were true chicken wings and i would just sit there watching TV downing chicken wings. Do you know what you can always eat when you are not hungry? chicken wings.

But that road from 272 to 303 i do not miss that one bit at all. i got to 283 and my body did not want to move...and it took everything food wise and heavy slag iron wise to get up over 290. When i got over 290....again 292 was this freaking sticking point my body did not want to move from...dropping down to 288 and making it up to 296 was like a freaking yo yo. I went to Vegas in 2002 for the USA championships and I decided i was going to go for the "Biggest MFer in the audience" award. And i did. I showed up at 303lbs with arms measuring around 22 inches....but alas it was not my day because Trevor Smith was there and Big Sean Allen and Victor Richards in the audience....I am going to pat myself on the back a little bit and say i did ok because i walked out an exit door and standing right there was one of the top 6 bodybuilders of all time (legend) and he looks at me and says "Jesus Christ dude!" and a few other things happened in that expo and at that contest that made me feel like i had arrived.

But things were different back then. The goals for virtually everyone was to get massive as you possibly could as a bodybuilder. There was no such thing as classic and shape bbers were looked at like "you need size buddy!" its a different mindset and game now....and i kind of wish i had that choice back then. I would much rather gone after a Bumstead look than a Schlierkamp look but like I said that really wasnt promoted and really wasnt an option.

One thing that is great though when you set those set points.....its so easy to carry muscle mass at that point. I would never do this but I could in a heartbeat be 285lbs because my body is so primed to be big from those decades of massively heavy training and eating...but i have to eat minimal carbs nowadays and i do mean minimal and that keeps me at 252-258. But more power to you DanielTX and TheOtherOne55....its so freaking hard to do that day in and day out...but it truly is the make or break of it. Respect.

Remember what Phil Hernon used to say- take what they tell you and X2.

What was odd is how openly they volunteered it to me. Even more weird not one asked me my dosages. 😂

But in reality my guess is these guys couldn’t afford to use more HGH. This wasn’t Olympia pros. David Henry was the most top tier guy there. Most of these guys live in small studio apartments and drive old cars- no judgment at all. But they all believe they’ll be famous on an Olympia stage one day.

It’s the trap and illusion this sport gives- you’ll be famous and make money in this sport. NO… you will not.

As Linda Murray said in the athlete meeting- “I’m gonna be real with y’all, you pay the bills. You don’t get paid to do this sport.”

She was always wearing all Gucci. 😂 But so true.

I wish I had of repped a PM shirt at the show bc most of those guys need to be on here reading.
One of the most eye opening things for myself when i moved from Massachusetts to California in the 90's was to find out how broke all these pro's and top ams who were promoted in the magazines were. Like you said studio apartments and ratbox cars....and those who had nice cars had a facade going with leases to make people think they were rolling rich....but they were using any and all funds coming in and paying for those leases while living paycheck to paycheck and
a) mooching off their significant others
b) selling drugs
c) ripping off people <---still going on today

It was pretty depressing to see what was promoted in Flex Magazine and etc...truly was not happening. I feel bad for any young bodybuilder who thinks he is going to "make it" competing in pro bodybuilding. The majority of people have wised up and realize competing bbers are usually dead broke or struggling.....and the influencers with youtube accounts or some kind of online money making endeavors are killing it.

@DOGGCRAPP I always appreciate you jumping in and sharing your experience. One of my proudest accomplishments in bodybuilding is that I've earned your respect even though we've never met in person. As purely a mass guy I wish I would've been around back in the day with all y'all big guys!

💯 you said everything I wanted to say but didn’t want to hurt feelings or kill dreams.

I know Toney Freeman well and everyday he would pull up in his old 90’s Toyota SUV. He told me that they used to be so broke that he took all his prize money or sponsor checks and hid the cash up in their mattress because he didn’t know what to do with all the money and didn’t want to lose it or give it to a bank.

I can say all that because he’s told it to me publicly on an interview before, but that’s a top placing Olympia Pro.

It kills me when I compete or go to the gym and the pros at the gym leave and get into a beater car. Same at the shows. And the whole time they keep telling themselves and believing one day they will be on the Olympia stage and it will all change.

Meanwhile I get in my 2024 Dodge TRX or one of my other cars and go home to a set life trying to understand how they can’t see it. I try to tell them at these shows they will never make money in this sport and it’s like they don’t hear it or even care. It’s so engrained into them that I don’t think they could change it if they tried.

I’m the first to admit that I am not like any of these competitors and feel like the odd one out at shows.

The one thing that I don’t ever want to mislead anyone here on is that they could do this how I do it without the resources or means that I have.

I don’t have to inject whatever I have on hand. I can afford to buy 50 Geno pins to use. I can afford organic grass fed food and have it on my doorstep as I need it.

I can afford to go get stem cell treatments, I have access to and can afford the top cardiologist in the Country, I can afford to pay AJ a year in advance for unlimited time.

I have the luxury and means to set my business up to operate around my prep and workout schedule in the AM. I can have a full therapy clinic set up in my home with cardio, cold plunge, sauna and any therapy needed.

If I need blood work I can get same day results, access any imaging same day or medical need.

I could go on and on. But most guys and pros do not have the means or resources I have. On the other end they don’t have that because I can say without question they aren’t willing to do what I do in order to have the life I do as it doesn’t come easy or without cost. It never stops and never will. Im able to translate the discipline and drive across all aspects of my life. And while I’m only here to talk bodybuilding and be a bodybuilder- if I do this much for my side hobby, what do you think I do for my life and business… this is icing on the cake.

Thank you @DOGGCRAPP for calling this subject out because it needed to be said.

99% of competitive pros are flat broke with nothing to show for it.

99.9% of guys don’t have the means and aren’t willing to do what I do to have the life I do and ability to give what I do to this sport while being a man, husband, CEO and knowing this is just my selfish side hobby.

I say that in a fully humble way as I challenge anyone here to be in that .01% who does it as well. And those few are on this board and know who they are.

Don’t chase this sport for an illusion. Get your shit in order and then do this because you can. #1 advice I’d give anyone wanting to do this at a high level.

Another excellent post.

I've said this many times and I'll say it again - when I talk to a young guy who's serious about bodybuilding and has potential I tell them the most important thing is to find a well-paying career because taking bodybuilding to the max is expensive.

With my career, I had a long-term plan I started in 2013 to get to the $100K+ income level and I wouldn't be the bodybuilder I am today if I wasn't so well off financially. As you said, when you've got that nailed down you can afford the best food, quality drugs, health supplements, scans - all the stuff you need to do this successfully at the highest level over the long-term.

If you're taking this journey seriously, you eventually reach a point in your life where small, often overlooked tricks can really make all the difference in this world.

I miss John Meadows!

Never once since I knew him did he talk about money, and the man had plenty of it.

If you dont mind me asking..what do you do for a living that you have access to get imaging done same day?

I’ve answered that in many threads, including this one.

As part of my business and contracts I work with thousands of doctors.

Damn, my wife’s a physician and has access to none of that same day stuff, that’s pretty awesome

Reading comprehension is hard I know. I said no fats at all? I said 0 fats? Oh boy fascinating
Or was it in the context of added fats out side of maybe eaas

Let's take the goal of 7000 total cals.

Let's eat only clean foods, how about oats and chicken breast.

3500/150(40g oats) = 23.3333 servings so round up to 24 servings or 12 cups of oats. Little over 2lb dry weight whole rolled oats.
Fat: 24x2.5 =60g
Carbs: 24x27= 648g
Protein: 24x5= 120(not going to count just wanted to account for the calories)

3500/140(4oz serving) = 25 or 6.25 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast pre-cooked weight
Fat: 25 x 4= 100g
Carbs: 0
Protein: 625

TOTALS: 7000cals
Carbs: 648g
Protein: 625 not counting the oats
Fat 160grams OH NO, I guess these foods are not clean enough, I guess I'll do the math for egg whites and white rice..................cuz it healthy, derrrr.

At a certain point it becomes about the actual PHYSICAL VOLUME of food that will PHYSICALY fit in a persons GI. I'm not saying sticks of butter in every cup of coffee is a great idea but many are not going to be able to cram 7000+ calories from rice, veggies, egg whites, white fish and chicken.

Well the fat in chicken breast is around 5 to 6 for 8oz or 50g of protein. Around 10-12 for a pound. So say 300 grams of protein would be 30 to 36 from chicken breast.
Well there's iso protein and eggwhites and white fish and turkey breast and 97 beef

I thought I had you on ignore. When you learn the right macros for food let me know.
Cuz derrrr

Who is eating that many oats?
Let's not be du... never mind.

What's the fat for fruit and white rice, dextrose, cream of rice, rice based cereal

Jeez it's almost like it's not hard or something to do relatively low fat cuz common sense or something

Yes at a certain point it becomes harder to get in that much chicken and oatmeal or rice there's endless very own to no fat ways to make getting high calories.

Hell regular sodas because fructose doesn't trigger leptin
