hypothetical insulin question

If a person takes x amount of insulin I.M. starting at a BSC of 90 and only takes enough carbs to rebound to a BSC of 65 to 75 does this remove any chance of making fat during the hour and a half the humalog is working? This is assuming that only BCAA and Dex is injested during this period.

Second hypothetical question: If a person can run insulin as low as 5 carbs per I.U. is it best to do this or is there a growth value that comes with the added carbs? ie: Is there a BSC that is BEST to rebound to?

Please save me the "it's dangerous" stuff. Hypotheticl person.
 
for your first question:
there would be no sane reason to do that. fat gain with insulin isn't caused by carb/fat/or protein intake during the active life of the slin. it's caused by over stuffing yourself with 2000 calories worth of carbs within 1 hour. If all the info we have on insulin is true, every type-1 diabetic would end up dead or weighing 400 lbs of fat. adjust your insulin intake accordingly to your diet, and not the other way around.

second question:
No (unless you are carb loading for a contest or a certain day a week)... and other than a normal BGL, no.

What your saying makes alot of sence. I wish I had a dime for ever time Ive read warnings about not eating fat while slin is active.

Has anyone played with the idea of timing water based supps and running them home with slin?

you shouldn't go with the bare minimum regarding carbs... and no, the bare minimum isn't 10 gr/iu... i don't know who the hell came up with that. just keep your BG stable by moderate carb intake throughout a certain time frame.
as for your second question... i have no clue how slin works, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't work the way people think it does.
