Hey everyone, how's it going? I'm new here, and this is my first post, so hopefully I can get across what I want to say clearly. Well I'm about 5'6, 170 lbs, 19 years old and I play football right now in college though this will be my last season of it (note I'm a kicker haha). I do natural weight training, and I guess with what I want to say here is that not only for Spring Break and summer, but beyond, what can I do I guess to really get myself into that "beach body" mode? Once football finishes in the next month I plan on hitting the weight room again and doing some running on my own. I'm open and willing for suggestions as to what I can do for my body. Lifting I am dedicated to, it's just more of a matter in the running and doing my abs. Anything will help, thank you.
 
Consistent progressive resistance training and a good eating program. Nothing fancy, no need to make it complicated.

Running - unless you enjoy it, I'm not a big believer in cardio

Abs - no need to train them any more frequent than any other muscle group. Alot of guys I know do not train them at all and have great abs because of their diet and the secondary emphasis placed on them with other exercises.
 
I say stop training naturally!

As always, Marshall hit you with the best possible advice (you should feel honored, he is very well respected on this board and has forgotten more than I will ever know). Remember, when he said consistant, that means training day after day, week after week and month into month. At 19 your more liable to spend your whole life on crunches for abs. What Marshall means by not going overboard with that aspect of training is that you should not emphasis just that one muscle group over any other, and in fact as he notes, if you stick with the basic compound movement strength excersises (bench, deadlift, squat, etc...) you would be supprised at what kind of abs you will be creating. Then its a matter of good eating habbits to shed away the layers between the muscle and the skin to make those jewel like abs show. When the time comes for that "beach body" good nutrition habbits will be 90% of what will get you that look.
