Deadlifting today i felt a pop in my right forearm, the underside(same side as my plam) a bruise appears, and sewlling occours. Pins and needles from elbow down, from elbow up stabbing pain thru tricep and back of neck. cant get to doc until tues. any ideas?
 
sounds like you tore a muscle. thats exactly what happened when i tore my left bicep. though obviously it was a different part of the body where the bruising and pain centralized.

maybe you tore your forearm muscle? sorry, dont remember the name of it and too lazy to google it. are you icing it down? any advil for swelling and pain?
 
Rest, Ice (20 minutes on, 10 minutes off), compression (I like using a knee wrap), elevation (get it above your head so that fluid drains down).

Sounds like a tear, and possibly the swelling is hitting some nerves. Focus on getting the swelling under control until you can get to the doc.
 
I does sound like a muscle tear. Like Taz, I tore my right bicep deadlifting with the over/under grip. With no warning at all, I feel 3 quick pops then the swelling and pain started right away. Were you doing a heavy pull? Has that forearm been nagging you at all? Ice it and see what the doc says. Good luck on that tkav. Keep us updated.

Tkav, I am also curious about if you were using an over/under grip on that deadlift when you felt this happen?

Agreed it is more then likely torn muscle .....I also tore left bicep and did not take care of it right away and wish I did..... Had surgery 2yrs later to try to attach tendon and had to have cadaver tendon put in me and it looks worse now then it did before so I would get to orthopedic doc right away and see what damage is..... Good luck......
 
Any time there is a pop and then bruising, you can be confident that you have torn something. Just which one is hard to say without scans or tests. But def ice it, keep elevated. You need to manage the swelling first. From your description it sounds like the larger muscle on the underside of the forearm. This is the one that takes a hammering on deads. Get to the doc asap or maybe even emergency room to get it looked at.
 
I'm another one that partially tore a bicep tendon using an over/under grip on deads. Sounds like a torn muscle or tendon for sure. Use the RICE protocol like everyone else has said, then get to a doctor when possible. Good luck Bro.
