Haphazardly came across this today doing some research and I must say, (despite VERY limited data), it looks promising - Pilot study of temporary controllable gastric pseudobezoars for dynamic non-invasive gastric volume reduction (afterall, despite only 2 subjects, at least they were humans as opposed to damn rats!)
Anyone try the product in this study (ZALAK-B(TM)) or know of anyone who has?
...couldn't resist and placed an order. I'll definitely be sure to let y'all know how it goes. The very limited ("case reports") I found via Google were all VERY impressive. Would have been interesting if the investigators also tested major hunger/satiety and glucoregulatory hormones (ghrelin, leptin, PYY, glucose, insulin, etc.). I could be wrong but from the years of research I've done in this area, it's highly unlikely that mechanoreception alone is responsible for the effectiveness....
