Just Received..........

Some bad news from Home.
It is my uncle, my mom just emailed me to say he is in hospital in intensive care with Pneumonia and Leukemia. They cannot treat the Luekemia without clearing up,the pneumonia. They (my relatives) were all getting together in early sept for a big family reunion too. She tells me he is getting a bit better but it is still very tight. It is a race against time now!

Please say a prayer for him and send him your thoughts. He is a really cool guy and was always the life of the party. He has the most boistrous laugh and the wildest sense of humour. I only pray that he either improves and lives a few more years with quality or that death comes swift and he does not suffer. He does not deserve that!

Thank you all my brothers and sisters!
Get well Uncle Bob or please pass through into the light and suffer no more. Either way I love you and have missed your laughter. God Bless!

Thank you all so much for your support and kind words. And I really appreciate the positive thoughts going to my uncle. I have not heard any news from my mother in a few days now. I will only take this as "No news is good news" for now. If there is any change I will let you all know.

Many of you already know that all of my family is stateside and I live in Australia, a Zillion miles away from them. When tragedy hits home I feel very isolated and helpless. Even though being closer would make little to no difference to the situation other than take up another seat in the waiting room. My Uncle knows I love him and only wish the best for him. He would be of the same opinion as I am, if I/he cannot live with quality and dignity for the remainder of my/his life then life stops there. I have always held this belief and see no reason to prolong the inevitable.

I do hope he can pull through and be well. You guys and gals here are my family. I have no one here in OZ to turn to in crisis or joy. SO I thank you for allowing me to share my good times as well as bad with you. I will keep you informed.

Update!!

I just got offline with my brother. It seems that my Uncle is doing really well. The doctors had him on death's door last week and he is up and walking now!

He is not exactly out of the woods yet but he is improving daily now. They are concerned about a spot on one of his lymph glands which they are waiting till he is well enough to biopsy. They are talking about lymphoma but they do not know which type just yet. The leukemia he has is the less aggressive type and very treatable.

I do believe in positive thinking and the power of the many chanelling good thoughts to those in need. I cannot thank all you enough for your thoughts, prayers and kind words. it means so much to me to know you all care and from my uncle I thank you also. I will keep you updated on his progress.

Just keep saying your prayers and think positive, I do it every single day, up to 7-8 times/day. God is the only one who can work miracles and really do anything at all.

Everything we do is through the grace of god. Glad to hear that your uncle is feeling better, I'm sure that now you will spend more time with him.

Almost the exact same thing happened to my uncle Joe two years ago. We do a lot of work together, because he is a Refrigeration and HVAC contractor. My aunt said that he was going to die, no question about it. He was a heavy drinker and smoker, had a heart attack, but he made it. I talk to him at least twice a month. It used to only be when we had work together maybe twice a year.

Hope he continues to improve.
