OK so yesterday (Sun here in OZ) I am in the gym cause one of my F'ing treadmills breaks down. So I am in the process of swapping it out with one I had in the store room. I get the other on out and am putiing the broken one in the store room so I can look at it later. Just about there and as I am pushing this F'ing thing I fell this (sickening) POP and tear in my right shoulder near the front delt. I mean this was an evil sound and feel. I stop doing what I was doing and let out a M@#%er F*$%er. GYm was empty. But what follows is some serious pins and needles at the site of the injury. So I finish putting the F'ing treadmill away, go and get the ice pack out of the freezer and put it on my shoulder while I sit and read some cool shit here at Promuscle. Waiting for the enevitable........pain.........you bet your ass!!! So all night on and off with ice, took some pain killers I had left over from my broken toe so I could sllep. Got about 3 hours off sleep, all the while tossing and turning thinking, that's it, no more lifting, they're gonna have to amputate.
Wake up early as usual and OMG the pain was incredible. SO I shower and rest a while, waited to go to the hospital. Emergency room is full, so I wait, 3 and 1/2 hours I wait, only to have one of the staf come out and say they were 2 hours behind. By now I was ready to kill someone, so I politely asked (with pain contorted face) if there was any way possible to speed this up! She looks at me and asks, "Are you in Pain"?........I wanted to strangle her, but Calmly I said yes maam, very much so! SO another 10 minutes and my name is called.
Now we're talking, I'm finally going to get to the bottom of my problem, so I thought. SO I go into the consulting room and am greeted by this absolutely stunning looking woman with stethescope strung around her neck, I'm thinking (WOW, things are looking up) and yep she is a 4th year med student, well at this stage ask me if I cared, my shoulder instantly felt better, well she was a welcome distraction from the pain. I kid you not she was a vision and had the best rump I have ever seen. OH back to my problem, she asks me some questions and I explain my take on things, knowing a bit about this stuff I give her my take. She then says she is going to consult with one of the physicians on staff and be right back.
About 3 minutes passes and she walks back in with, wait for it, another absolutely gorgeous female doctor, well guys it was not the end of the world after all and between the two of these stunning looking women, do you think my shoulder hurt......shit no, well it did but I didn't care any more. Two of the best looking females let alone dr's I have ever seen. I did pinch myself to make sure it wasn't a dream brought on by the pain meds the night before!!! LOL.
In the end I have come real damn close to pulling the top end of the biceps clean off the bone and strained my rotator cuff big time. So it will be leg training full time for a few weeks until I can get back to upper body. But the smiles and comments from these two dr's was well worth the wait.
I'm still pissed off about being injured though!!!!
