anyone here what happend to kev and why he wasnt at the O. Or was he and I just missed him. Was he injured, sick, or what. I was hearing rumors that his hernia was healed and he was back to lifitng and getting back to the old kev days. Just curious what happened thanx fellas

He wasn't competing, but he was there. He was an announcer for the ppv broadcast. He's left competitive bbing and is pursuing an acting career.

Btw, if he's been training, it's been the "tone up" variety of training. He's maybe Vin Diesel Hollywood lean now, which makes sense. A 250# actor isn't all that mush in demand I suppose.

well i guess life goes on huh, damn Just enjoyed him as a BBer, obviously that wasnt an avenue for him anymore. Yea big, veiny, muscular men dont make it to well on TV less your Bane on Batman, and those characters dont sell. Well I hope he does well the BBer will miss him if he doesnt come back

I seen some recent pics and couldnt beleive it...
Maybe he is a healthier happier person now but he doesnt look it.
he looks to have dropped some serious size and weight.

Exactly. I've met Kev on a couple of occasions. I'm from Md (Baltimore area). I saw Kev twice at the Md state show. The first time was back in june of '01, I believe. He hadn't trained in months (by his admission). And, to be standing there next to him in street clothes, he didn't look like a champion bodybuilder. He looked "athletic". Like a guy who jogged and pumped up on a soloflex or something. lol. But, when he got on that stage to guest pose, I was like "damn"! This guy looked huge on stage. The following year, he was just a few weeks out from the O'. That sucker looked gigantic in a sweatsuit! He was 260, I believe is what they said. He came on stage later and he looked like a monster!

It's just weird how some pro bodybuilders look normal in street clothes, but when the shirt comes off, you're like "holy $hit"! It was like that standing next to Cormier at the Body Rock a couple of years back. I was like "hell, I'm bigger than him". Then, when he got on stage in his posing gear, reality set in. lol. That guy makes me look like dookie! I mean, you find out quick that you're not in the same friggin' league as these guys.

Hmmm.... He would be off gear, carrying much less mass and leaner. That sounds healthier to me. I have seen his pics and I think he couldn't look better.

It's just weird how some pro bodybuilders look normal in street clothes, but when the shirt comes off, you're like "holy $hit"! It was like that standing next to Cormier at the Body Rock a couple of years back. I was like "hell, I'm bigger than him". Then, when he got on stage in his posing gear, reality set in. lol. That guy makes me look like dookie! I mean, you find out quick that you're not in the same friggin' league as these guys.

I am like that. In clothes I always look small. I look much bigger naked and onstage I look ten times bigger than off stage. I guess some bodies can create that illusion.
I mean I have people that see my comp pics at 230-240 and then they look at me standing next to them at 280 and they say 'You lost a lot of size since these photos, didn't you?' LOL

I remember in '92, I was only 18 years old and I have a photo standing next to Lee Haney. Lee was wearing a black t-shirt, a leather jacket and Levis' 501. Think about this - he could fit in 501's!
He looked like he never went to a gym in his life. I looked bigger than him standing there in that photo.
And then he took his clothes off and went on stage and my jaw hit the floor! He look incredible. Huge, full and ripped.

...melvin anthony, now that was a sorry sight...he was small and downright mushy looking...very sad...so much for "one of a kind genetics"...i assume hes not trying to...slim down for acting like levrone, so it was rather dissappointing to see how unbelievably crappy he looked...his wife was very hot though

I do believe that once you have reached a certain level, it is hard to maintain a decent look on what some consider to be a heavy cycle. A gram of test a week don't bounce these guys back like it does to us novice individuals. I have seen Dexter J. back in the days when he was struggling to win the nationals. He came down hard one time and looked like Slim Whitman. However, once these guys get the right chems in them, it is amazing the transformation their bodies take on.

He loses so much weight for that band of his and then BAM...back up the the upper 200+ mths later is crazy! Not to mention, this guy is one of the strongest bbers out there too...watch his video, even like 2 weeks out of the O he still incine presses 4 plates on a side!

It really is amazing how much bigger being lean looks. When I'm in a t-shirt, I don't get a second glance from anyone. When I wear a tank or sleeveless, I get comments from clerks to cooks about what a "big" boy I am. The only comments I get when I'm in a t-shirt is about how fine I am

I talked to Kevin at the bodyrock in VA and at the MD state. He looked like those pics Malest posted. Small. He could still blow up anytime he wished, just as you guys describe. But he will never bring up his weaknesses (especially Legs) without the year round training most guys endure.
Ive spotted him doing 5 plates on barbell incline.
