Thought I would post a thread about King's upcoming show. He is entering the New York Pro on May 12th. He is officially starting full out contest prep this Sat. My main concern after the Atlantic City show was for him to stay lean. I didn't care what he weighed when we started back although he has retained a lot of muscle. He will be growing into his show this time which will be fun and when I say growing I mean it!! He weighs about 275 in this pic. He should be rather large looking by the time the Arnoold Classic rolls around. :D He will be there working the Muscle Tech booth.

Lookin' huge bud, hope everthing goes well for ya.

Peace

I see King has been slammed on No Bull Radio. I hope he uses that to fuel his training. I met King at the Arnold several years ago, and he was articulate, professional, and most of all, PLEASANT! Even in contest mode, dieted down, he took the time to chat with me. This might not seem like a big deal, and it should not be, but soooooo many pros don't have the right attitude when it comes to fans. Kings posing routines alone are worth the price of admission. Train hard bro, and keep entertaining.

King, good luck bro.

Magnum, can you post an example of Kings daily diet?

Great to hear Magnum...Looking forward to seeing your guys finished product.

I have a question in regards to his training.....You guys were talking about how you have lightened up the weight some and added more reps....Will you go through periods where you drop the reps and up the weights and then back to high reps or will you just keep the rep ranges the same.....The reason why I ask is if I go too long at rep ranges in the 15-25 range for too long that it is hard on my CNS and I start feeling really overtrained if I do not switch up my reps, weight, and intensity a little...

All the Best to you King at the NY show, we will be rooting for you!!

I will try and stop by the Muscle Tech Booth @ the Arnold as well and say hi...

Good thread mr Magnum, keep us posted!

King looks good,i wish him victory in NY!

Way to be, Magnum. Making MuscleTech look good! You gotta be proud of that. We're looking forward to whatever info you're willing to leak about Kings prep. Good Luck to both of you.

Training will remain the same. King has been training extremely heavy for many years, a few months of volume will be very beneficial. I am one of those guys who think that for the most part over training is a myth. As long as you are eating good and most importantly getting enough sleep you should be fine. Personally I think it good to take a week off every so often and rest. Listen to your body. It will tell you when to take a break.

I guess my definition of overtraining is just being plain fucking beat down tired....lol...

Sleep and time off....I don't think I ever get enough sleep and I being serious magnum when I say that I haven't taken more than 4 days off in a row from lifting in the last three years... I ignore So many signs from my body and push through it....I am learning the hard way I need to do more listening...

Things need to change for me, thanks for answering my question Magnum i really appreciate it...All the best to you this year King!

is king still training 7 days a week?

and magnum, what stage weight are you shooting for with king?

6 days. I could guess at the weight and probabley be very close but to be honest I am not thinking in those terms. Don't really care what he weighs. It's more of a mental pic than a scale thing.

Long live the king! Damn 275, I didn't know he was that big.

Thanks for the update Magnum. keep them coming. Hey King, Lookin large my man. I wish you all the best for N.Y. Tell the media and the haters to "PUT UP OR SHUT UP". I do get tired of the stream of BS politics in this game. I have met a couple of big pro BBers and have always found them to be Great people. Had the pleasure of meeting Big Ron. Same again. Really nice guy. So I say to the haters GF. You go King!!

Time to rock...

Hey Magnum...King's lookin tight..especially considering "down time" for last several months...I know you will bring him dialed for this next show in May..anxious to see finished product.

When you coming out to visit me you big bastard...I will get you on a plane yet. You and edge need to come out for visit. I might have some latino babes to introduce to you...LOL
Can you say Colombian...yes sir...

bulldog-i have always felt that using lighter weights leads to muscle loss precontest so i train the same whether i am off season or precontest. i might go to straight sets the last 2-3 weeks if i feel i need to (i DC train) only difference for me is my diet and added cardio.

king looks nice and lean for being off season.
