true but so does whey. so why isnt whey a better protein source then chicken.
 
actually whole eggs have the best amino profile for what we need. The egg white is an incomplete protein! it takes the white and the yolk combined to give you the complete protein source from eggs.

I wouldn't want as many egg whites as it would take me to replace the protein i get in my chicken. Wouldn't be thrilled about eating 25 egg whites at one sitting.....too much
 
and your wife would not like the recycled eggs whites coming out your ass at 12am...you might just wake her up...or wait she is waking you up :) LOL

Well maybe not better but different. You will def get more protein from a chicken breast than you will a few egg whites or whole eggs. But getting a variety of protein throughout the day is important and gives you the full spectrum of aminos in the diet.

i got ya. i also just realized theres alot of sodium in liquid egg whites. so ima use egg whites for 2-3 meals a day instead of 4-5. then chicken, tuna, whey, beef for my other meals. ive never really watched my sodium intake, so what would be a healthy amount to have each day?

I agree with oldfella and I would also like to add that one of the best things for me about liquid egg whites is that you can drink them. This makes for not only convience but a wide variation of ingredients can be added depending on what diet theory you subscribe to.

Why do most only eat egg whites? Why not eat the whole egg? I am interested in the reponses here.

I understand the ease of liquid egg whites and the no cooking aspect but if you had the time and are at home why not eat whole eggs?? This should be interesting. After some responses I will give you what I know and do!

because of the amount of fat and cholesterol u would be getting if u ate that many yolks.

Every so often I do eat whole eggs. I feel that the benefit of taking out the fat of the whole egg and replacing it with a selected fat of my choice out weighs the sacrifice of the reduced amino profile with egg whites.
 
Besides what I havwe already stated about the protein of the whole egg vs. egg whites alone there are some very good resons to eat the whole egg. The fat in the egg is not going to contribute to poor health or wreck your diet efforts, to the contrary! In the yellow there is choline, this has been shown to aid in the decrease of ldl and raise hdl in the blood stream. So out with the myth that eggs will give you high cholesterol. Second there is more b12 and other highly beneficial vitamins in the yolks that are not present in the whites alone. If you are super diet conscious simply take some fat out of your diet elswhere to compensate for the fat in the eggs.

6 whole eggs gives you the same amount of protein as 12 whites plus a whole host of other goodies and the protein is much more complete in amino structure. I have been eating whole eggs for years right up through contests and never had a problem with getting into condition. I think as Body Builders we need to start looking at the simplicity of what we eat rather than get complicated with our food intake. If you are a couch potato then of course I would never recommend eating that amount of eggs. But we are not couch potatoes!

imo even tho the yolk carries some benefits like choline. the amount of bad fats and bad cholesterol far out ways the good but this is just my opinion obviously.

yes of course i read it. i dont disagree completely i think 1-2 yolks a day would be healthy but i dont think 48 or more yolks a day would be. just a difference of opinion no big deal.
 
or you can do mostly egg whites and add in a few yolks. I get eggs with efa's and will add a few yolks to the meal. that way you're still getting the benefit of the yolk but not as many that it takes up your entire daily consumption of fat in one sitting :D

There would be absolutely no need to eat that many eggs if you ate the whole egg, and as has been pointed out, you have X number of whole eggs and then add more egg whites if you want to, but you won't need to because the protein you get from the whole egg is better in the long run than just the white.
