so weight77, has everyone else on here put their pics on for a 'date'? no. why do you assume that i have done so for that purpose? no. not all gays are just sex sex sex and er, more sex. besides, i'm in a monogamous loving relationship...

i love bodybuilding and am glad to be part of this 'instant community' celebrating it's diversity and effort that all have put in to their bodies...yes, even you ironyard. your homophobia is most welcome as it reminds me of how far we've come!

i posted the pics to show who i was, not just a moniker and i've said i'm gay and i didn't even try to erase my face like other member's have done. confident, true. still got far to go? also true. but at least i'm out there. can i see some pics of you guys???

I have no problem with homosexual people. Personally, I don't understand their lifestyle, but to each his own.

However, to reiterate the points earlier stated by vader and weights, I really don't feel that this is the place for you. If you had posted competition pics or something along those lines, fine, who cares if you're gay? But, from the pictures that you did post along with the "I hope you like what you see" line, what are we to think? It certainly appears that you're asking for a date rather than an assesment of your physique.

thanks lats for a bit of common sense and making me feel a bit more welcome! and yes, you hit the nail on the head when i'm here to learn and advise where i can. all i did was post a couple of pics of me. that would have been fine in itself [having seen other pics, they aren't all competition shots e.g. phil hernon et al]. as for my comment 'hope you like what you see' it was just that - an invite to comment. why else does anyone on here put up pics of themselves? and i also get lambasted for posting personal pics. what other pics am i supposed to post - someone else's? how much more personal can a pic be if it's of yourself?judging by the other posts in other threads, all replies are entirely comments on whether they like what they see!

as for looking for a date, well, just read the post. it says 'hope you like what you see.' not, 'hope you like what you see. now take your pants off and let's get down to it...' THAT is an invitation for something more! besides, there are a lot of other gay bodybuilding sites i can go to and do that as many have stated. i'm not looking for that. i reiterate, i'm here for the love of bodybuilding. what some can't seem to get through their heads is that a gay man can appreciate the sport without lusting after those involved!

the pics concerned were taken by professional photographers for art house books. i find pictures of this sort far more interesting - with the use of light, props etc to make the body stand out for the work of art that it is. i am not the only bodybuilder to think so. i remember shots of lee priest, dennis newman, bob paris and others in similar shots. were they 'looking for dates'? competition poses are fine but let's go one step beyond.

and after all this, can we just note that i wasn't the first to bring up sex! i posted my pics like other members have done. the first question i got was are you gay? i'm not going to deny that! i believe this is called the member's gallery. well, as a member, i posted to the gallery as others have done. am i to be tarred and feathered for following orders?

I'm not sure whay your goal is with all this gay BS discussion. I wasn't going to chime in here because I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND gay lifestyle.

If you really didn't want this to become a flamefest, you're third response (or something similar) should have been your first response.

Comparing your clothed pic to Phil Hernons would be just like me trying to justify a clothed pic - IT'S NOT the SAME. Phil's clothed pic with his girl showed that he's like 3-4 times larger than her (LOL) and shows what a monster he looks like in clothes (NOBODY'S gonna give HIM shit).

It seems like part of the "gay" lifestyle is to start controversy. You're not the first to do this and probably won't be the last.
