My last procedure was an arthroscopy, removal of loose body from the supraspinatus bursa region, chondroplasty of the glenoid, debridgement of the anterior superior labrum. The findings were grade III chondromalacia involving most of the inferior half of the gleniod. There was also anterior fraying and flap tears over the anterior superior labrum which was debrided. The first procedure was a mumford from impingement syndrome.
My current MR Arthogram shows a large tear of the entire anterior labrum with a 2 CM anterior paralabral cyst extending 1 cm medially over the periosteum. There is a 50% partial thickness tear of the infraspinatus tendon with a full thickness tear and a mild partial tear of the long head of the biceps tendon.
I have done lots of physical therapy, changed my workout and I am still dealing with extreme amounts of pain. I have not used barbells in years due to previous injuries on same shoulder.
My next appoinment is on Thursday so we will see. The reversal replacement surgery detaches the rotator cuff completely and will incorporate the deltoid muscle to do all over head lifting of my arm. Not sure what effects that will have on lifting??? Many questions to ask, just worried that my lifting days may be numbered.
Thanks for all the input thus far!!
Lift safe!!
