just wondering what some of you thought about meditation? and if you practiced it? any good book recommendations?

we all know the brain is the most important body part in BB, and in life in general. fortunately, it can be trained just like the body...just trying to broaden my training tools.

we all know the brain is the most important body part in BB, and in life in general. fortunately, it can be trained just like the body...just trying to broaden my training tools.

I do it everyday. I learned a lot from Frank Zane and I learned a lot from Yoga. Zane has a book called The Mind in Bodybuilding that I would recommend as well.

If all else fails use mushrooms....lol....just kidding.

I meditate nearly every day.
Dont get it twisted meditation doesn't have to be some weird endeavor with humming and stuff (no offense to those that may do that).

for me, meditation is how i "turn off" my brain. i don't deal with stress too well and i used to have a difficult time falling asleep and winding down. once i learned to meditate i can literally fall asleep in 5-7 minutes. i can be calm amongst any situation. its pretty cool.

on a side note, i like this quote: "praying is speaking to God and meditating is listening to God."
i always liked that. it makes sense in many ways.

That'll do the job hahahaha

I used to do my 5 Tibetan rites as a daily practice. It balances your chakras and can help you develop inner peace. I know alot of people reading this are probably thinking WTF???!?? but it really does help calm the mind down and sync everthing up.

My friend is a yoga instructor, she pushed this on me when we first met. Buy this book Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth Book 2 Author is Peter Kelder

Tibetan Monks have been doing these 5 movements for thousands of years.

For meditation I prefer Zen.

You can actually get high off it. Are you familiar with diphragmic breathing- do this along with meditation - you will be amazed

I really wish I could do this bro, mind you I have yet to put in the "real effort" to accomplish this, I have a hard time just shutting down my brain. I have ants in my pants man, I cant even sit still.

I am not medically ill or anything remotely close to it, it's just that I always have to be doing something, cant even lie still. Thanks goodness wife got use to it.

mind going into a little more detail? if not no biggie, i can research it myself but if so....im all ears.

I looked into mediatation a bit to help me relax and sleep easier. From what I understand its all basically training yourself to "empty your mind" and control your breathing. Can be helpful in other areas of life too if you can remember to do it lol

My wife swears by it-i don't seem to have the patience.
