I think the whole category is silly. Your judged on your upper body and don’t even pose. I have never understood it and still don’t other than for the NPC to collect a shit load of money. It should be called the “Beach-body” division. I know these guys work hard but since day one, I’ve always trained everybody part like a madman and most of these guys obviously don’t..

I am not sure that classic and physique play as big a role in the increasing popularity of the "sport" as some think

The reality is that there are larger trends in society as a whole that are driving people more and more towards sport, health, longevity, physical appearance, superficiality, carnality, etc.

As the years go by athletics, sports, longevity, bio hacking, cosmetic surgery, bodybuilding, and all related things, will become bigger and bigger industries

For the same reason that Sunday, which used to be the day for Church, is now the day for football
