methadone causing low natty test levels !

anyone ever heard of this ? friend of mine started hrt ( 200 mg test cyp weekly) because his levels were below the scale ......doctors say methadone to blame......chime in .....

yes, opiates tend to suppress the HPTA...especially one as heavy and longlasting as methadone.

Its really nasty shit (methadone). THe WD is worsethan heroin since the halflife is a LOT longer. He'd be much better off going onto subuxone which is a partial opioid agonist...it also suppresses your nuts much less and is generally more tolerated...

btw, I think the doctor that prescribed the test is a fucking moron. His levels would rebound after he gets done with methadone therapy...but now that he has started TRT he will probably have to do it for life...

I am excited to call him to tell him about that other medicine.....heres the problem....his methadone treatment is for pain management and for life apparantly.....i bet you assumed it was for kicking a drug problem....i should have clarified.....he had 2 buldging discs lower back ,had the fusion surgery which actually made his situation worse than better ! tried every pain med unnder the sun then settled on methadone because it actually worked ...i personally never knew it was used for pain mgmt...one more question- are you saying once you start hrt that's its for life ?? he's like 37 by the way....

ah sorry for assuming man...around here methadone is reserved for poor people kicking a heroin habit. Richer people get subuxone since insurance sometimes doesnt cover it.

oxycodone is typically used for pain management in conjunction with fentanyl patches.

they will all suppress testosterone production...so if it really is lifetime then test cyp injections are probably a good idea.

Yes i believe it does suppress t levels. I was in a really bad cycle accident and was on dilaudid morphine and demerol injections (in a rotation) for months.
They then did a 6 week methadone taper. I did not have my T checked but
being very familar with aas know exactly what the feeling symptoms are.
thankfully I was able to obtain 7 kits of serostim and really shortened up my recovery time. That experience has caused me to really HATE the feeling of
any type of opiates.
