Did anyone catch Milos Sarcev's interview on pro bodybuilding weekly radio show? He was saying how amino acids are better than drinking a whey shake, because they are more readily available to the body for use in recovery. Specifically he was talking about free form essential amino acids.

Anyone have any thoughts on this or agree with Milos and his recovery methods and giant set training methods?

From what I read..if I am getting it right, he also believes in doing this during your workout as that is when the supply of blood, nutrients, etc is highest to your muscles.

I have always heard not to injest any type of shake or food during training as you don't won't to direct blood back to the stomach and away from the muscles being worked.

But according to him, aminos are immediately useful, and the blood will not be directed back to the stomach.

All I can say is that I have been sipping on the Liquid Beef Aminos through my workouts, and I am really liking the results.

Blood is not directed back to your stomach during exercise. Your stomach is a bag. No nutrients are absorbed into the blood stream from your stomach this all happens in the intestines. The act of exercising redirects blood flow away from gi and out of renal and splanchnic regions, eating will not change this, it may make you throw up, but it wont change the blood, well maybe a negligible amount. Free form aminos will pass through the stomach readily into the intestines the are already in their simplest for and are very easily absorbed into the blood stream. Milos is correct on advocating free form aminos during.

ya milos knows his shit
he takes a lot of crap from the folks on getbig but they are about as bright as a broken light bulb..

he makes some strong claims about the way eaa and bcaa will improve your physique and even says you could gain a significant amount of lbm just by doing the aminos around your workout... well he's right! he didnt discover this phenom, but he knows how to implament it in his trainees very well....

I live about an hour from his gym...I think I'll try and get a consultation with him. He was making alot of sense on the radio show, and think it would be an interesting training & recovery program to experiment with.

I have to agree with Milos. AA absorbtion happens very quickly. No digestion process. Therefor they enter the system quick. This is the reason LBA's work so well. I take them 15 minutes prior to training and then sip some while training. I can feel them go to work. Milos does know his shit. Aminos are the key to growth and recovery. So a protein shake/drink post workout would be fine for a longer release of Aminos as they get broken down. But ingesting pure aminos prior to or during training would be/is highly beneficial.

Let me rephrase that as Digestive Tract. This is what I meant by saying stomach anyway. And I didn't say that blood was directed back to your stomach during exercise as stated above.

My point was injesting something like a shake while working out could possibly pull blood away from the muscles being exercised to aid in digestion.

While I haven't researched it specifically, I have read that more than once.

I have never "sipped" on a shake during my workout just because I had always heard that, but I do use LBA aminos during it.

Im a member of Koloseum gym and have been using the xxplode workout drink for a few weeks now. I definately feel like it helps prevent me from going catabolic especially when doing high volume giant sets. Cant tell if its helping me put on size since im taking other goodies as well.

Hey Maxer...are you doing the giant sets for every body part or just lagging ones? And Do you use the giant sets year round or do you cycle them in at certain times during the year?

I have to agree with Milo on this. I have read articles by sports nutition doctors on just amino laoding between meals, before, during and after traininng and also done it. It works great. I feel they are better assimalted then whey shakes etc.
Since LBA have are availabl I probably will not really be buying protein powedr much longer and using just LBA and BCAA powders during the day and at workouts.

You can do them for every body part. Right now im doing them every time I have a workout partner, when I dont I do straight sets with more weight. I cycle/switch things up after a while to keep my muscles guessing, but others at our gym always do giant sets.

Maxer are u doing all three of his shakes? Preload, xxpload and reload?

I listened to the Milos interview and he talks about some guys gaining 30-40lbs doing this in a month. And if I remember right he claims thats the only change they made. He says how its obviously not all muscle, its glycogen and water ect... Still I find that hard to imagine someone putting on that kinda weight from just adding these shakes.

He sells his custom mixes on his site and haha omg are they expensive. 3 seperate shakes each different for $70 each and that will get u thru 15 workouts, so $210 for 15 workout . depending how often u workout thats FREAKIN EXpensive. But listening to his interview I from what i understood his theory is u can cut your protien intake down drastically throught the rest of the day since ur getting most of what u need for growth and recovery from these 3 pre, during and after workout shakes.

Just curious what kinda result people have been getting. Ive always done pre, during and after shakes but use to use maltodextrin/dextrose or cytomax and whey protien+ amino acid pills. Just recently Ive started using the Ultra grade hydro, BCAA, glut. and waxy for my 3 shakes. So far so good but definitely no 30lbs+ gains in 30 days. I have some EAA coming and Im going to try and get as close to his recomendations as I can and give it a run.

I think Milos has the right idea about consuming Amino Acids while training. A certain brand (which will remain nameless out of respect for our board sponsers) makes a great product which is very light and easy to drink. The product seriously packs a punch with what it contains AA wise and why not consume them while training. Flood the body with readily available aminos. Thats always a good idea.

A huge difference. Not until I used Waximaize in conjuction with some other things did I notice I wasnt really restoring glycogen to its fullest potential or at least thought I wasnt. The feeling is 100% different as well as the recovery. I didnt gain any huge amount of weight pursay but I noticed I was way fuller and just felt better after the training sessions. That period of time (post training) is so important and I think I wasnt optimizing it for the longest time. You keep learing all the time. Thats whats great about this sport. Its a constant battle against yourself and what you can achieve. I think guys like Milos are great for the sport because sometimes people like that try new things and have a host of guys willing to be the subjects so people can gain some knowledge based on real world experiences from the tests.

The only one of Milos's shakes im doing is the xxpload. I make my own pwo shake with vitargo or dextrose and other goodies. 30-40lbs i couldnt see possible without the use of insulin. I know a few other than myself who have put on 5-13lbs just using xxpload during workout and vitargo/wms post workout. Doesn't seem like water weight. Most amino products are relatively expensive. Yea its $70 on the site but if you live close to the gym its only $50 if you buy it there.

Sounds like when I decide to try his products out, I will be making a trip up to his gym, its about an hour from me, $50 is much better than $70.

buy bulk powder
I agree, though Milos says his aminos are way more potent than the others on the market. All the others are made from human hair according to him. I think it's a bunch of BS myself. Even if the rest are made from human hair it shouldn't effect how the aminos perform.

A bit strange that Milos didn't use Vitargo as the carb source in his shakes since he has been hyping it previously. Must've been a problem licensing it or just too expensive to include.
