Misrepresented ROID-RAGE story in newspaper!

Another bunch of shit printed by "WIRE REPORTS" in the Balt Sun.

Bison Dele the former pro Basketball player (called Brian Williams during his college career at Maryland Univ) has been missing and is presumed dead along with his wife.
His brother is being held in San Diego in connection with the disappearance.

"According to the Post report, Patricia Phillips, Dele's mother, told investigators for the Phoenix Police Department early this month that she was concerned for Dele and that Dabord's (Dele's brother) behavior becomes more aggressive when he takes
steroids to treat chronic asthma."

And in case you didnt know, Lyle Alzado's fatal brain cancer was caused by steroids too.

Now anyone with a half a brain knows that the medication was actually either Albuterol or prednisone, CORTICOL steroids taken
routinely for asthma and other respirotory ailments. But it sounds
so much better when you misrepresent it by just saying "steroids"
knowing damn weel that all the regular Joes and Janes reading it will assume its anabolic steroids! Sensational bullshit at its best!

As Ive said beofer-if you cant tell the truth - or dont know the difference between the truth and otherwise, dont fucking report it! I see no difference between reports like this and some crap in the National Enquirer!

Actually its got nothing to do with IQ. They routinely slant any story to make it as sensational as possible, fuck the facts. I've had to deal with the media in my professional life a few times, and learned that. If you talk to them they are totally untrustworthy - the "truth" or actual facts don't even enter into it - its all about slanting the story so as to make it more sensational and interesting, which translates into more readers, viewers, etc., which translates into more $, and faster advancement for the reporter, editor, etc. They act so pious and high and mighty like they are the "eyes and ears briniging the truth to the people" - bullshit. They are motivated totally by that old universal motivator - greed. I gurantee you they know the difference between corticol steroids and AS, or if they aren't totally clear, they just don't give a shit. Its a much more sensational and "interesting" story the way they wrote it and that's ALL they care about. Sorry for the rant - this is a big problem in American life - and its not just limited to AS issues. The general public has a vague idea that the media might slant things a "little" occasionaly, but has no idea that this is SOP for ALL stories - like I said fuck the facts!

hehe You are right Chuck, I majored in video productions/mass comm. and I worked for a t.v. station as an intern while at the same time trying to start my small business. In fact several of my instructors wrote for different news stations at one time or another, and one of the classes I had to take was "News Media" (i believe thats what it was called?).

We had to learn how to make a story alot more interesting and a few other things..... needless to say, I personaly didn't like how my life was going with those classes.

Exactly my point, Chuck!
And the media spout this garbage to an unwitting public;
Driving them to an uproar of do-gooders who want to fix all the bad things (in this case "steroids"); then the govt/politicians
react realizing money and power is on the line if they take a stand against these horrible things and save the poor public.
And the media asshole has made a name and money for himself because of it all.

There you have it-our ignorant laws are made and upheld!

And around and around the wheel of ignorance goes...
